Default What to do with front plate

Hello folks. Just sold my '90 Vert and bought a new C6 so I'm a newby to this forum. Please let me know what your doing with your front license plate. I can't see mounting that ugly bracket for the plate I found in the rear storage compartment. Do you just leave it off and hope for the best or lay it on top of the dashboard or what?

Take your chances and go without it. That plate destroys the look of the front of the car. As a last resort, some forum vendors offer other options for mounting the plate on a temporary or as needed basis.

I bought a Top-Flight removable mount from Southern Car Parts. A quality piece that goes on and off quickly and easily.

Best one, the one that folds under the front is known to hit things when down.

Leave it off and take the ticket! I'ts not a moving violation anyway just like a parking ticket. Just the added cost of owning a corvette.

Default Plate

Leave it in the trunk where it belongs! One ticket for that in my entire life (50) The lady cop told me "Sorry, I know it's a bull shi* ticket" cost me $10.00

Do yourself a favor - leave it off. Also from "Joisey". . . All inspection is concerned with is emissions. I registered and inspected mine in September for the first time - no front plate. Also, I didn't have a valid insurance card - only a temporary that was expired (save the comments, I know - bonehead move)....The guy let me go through anyway and NEVER even looked at the front of my car. And in NJ the cops could care less about front plates, UNLESS YOU HAVE BLACKED OUT WINDOWS, DRIVE LIKE A MADMAN or the like. Don't give them a reason to pull you over because once they do, they will write you for whatever they can find. Haven't been pulled over for plate yet and drive my vette ALL the time.

Skip the front plate!

In Texas it is a $200.00 fine & a Class C Misdemenor
But... there are problems with the law because there is a key element left out of the law. I don't know where you live but you can check this out if in Texas.
dallasattorney.com/.../114no-front-license-plate-law-in-texas-missing-key-element
This explains it way better then I can, & in Texas the little towns tend to give tickets for this rather then the big cities.

We too are fined in the soviet state of Washington. The solution i came up with is a removable mount type that enables me to remove the plate before trackdays. The plate mounts low and to the left of the front opening and does not look unattractive.

Leave mine in the trunk - not hassled in the 3+ years of ownership. Friend of mine is an officer in town & doesn't bother with his either.

I leave mine off. I've run two years that way without a ticket. If I were to put it on, I'd get one of those stow-n-go retractable ones.
