I got a ticket two years ago. Went home used double sided tape, stuck the license plate on the car, took a picture and sent it to the county where I got the ticket. They then sent me a $20 bill for admin fee.

Get the Top Flight bracket.

I drive by the police traffic patrol every day and they leave me alone... They would totally roll me though if I didn't have one...

This explains it way better then I can, & in Texas the little towns tend to give tickets for this rather then the big cities.
In Houston (Harris County) they gave me a pre addressed envelope with instructions to install the plate, take a picture of the car with the plate on it, inclose a money order for $10.00 and ship it all in. In there it says this is to cut down on crowded court rooms. What a waste of time. 5 Vette's spread out over 35 years, no front plate on any of them. A total of 1 ticket. Pulled over twice.

In Virginia - the police never even bother you a bout it. The annual inspection stations do not even hassle you.
I have three cars, none have a front license plate... One car I have had for 11+ years Never got a ticket... so far...haha.

It is in the cargo area, no problems in 5 years of running without it. If I get a ticket no big deal small price to pay after 5 years and worth not messing up the front of the Vette's looks.

Thanks for all the recommendations and insight. I'll probably start off without the front mounted and see what happens. My concern is the occational trip to NYC and the Island. Jersey in my opinion is more tolerant.

The removable mount sounds like a good alternative if I get hassled.

Get yourself a Top Flight holder w/ a body color coded frame.... Does not look that bad and does not impede airflow into the engine.

I just keep my front plate behind the seat. I would rather pay the fine then have a front plate.

I ran my 92 with no front plate for five years before getting pulled over for it once.... Verbal warning. I have not put a front plate on my Grand Sport yet. I am waiting for the new Ohio plates to come out then I am going to get a vinyl decal of the plate made for the front and stick it on there.

Live in Jersey and will NOT mount the front. It's butt ugly with a front plate. Don't drive like a putz and should be ok.
