Another issue is the "Service Active Handling". Was that limited to the 05, or were other years?

GM identified the cause and re-engineered the panel. Those of us with afflicted cars (myself included) got new painted roof panels and those panels have been free of problems.
Defective roofs left Bowling Green through all of model year 2006 and into early 2007. All of them were recalled eventually.

No it isn't. GM made a handful of changes in '06 to address issues specific to 2005s. In the case of the M6, the cars are nearly identical except for these specific fixes. Surely you're not arguing that they then introduced an exactly equal number of other problems in order that the C6 never improved.

"All cars have problems," as is so unhelpfully pointed out on this forum all the time, but not all cars (or model years) have the same number of problems.

Bought my '05 6 speed last year and love it! Make sure you park the car with the shifter in reverse, or you will get a dead battery! Good luck

Be Patient. Look around. After two C5s and with the stupid little things that went wrong, such as the LED in the climete controll to the head light motor gears. The great people in this Forum can keep you away from the Dealer with a real easy fix to the problem. I could go on all night with stories like when my Z06 would not pass emmisions, the dealer told me i needed to replace all the sensors in the cats that wern't coming on. BIG $$$. With the help of the forum, a battery disconnect and a 15 min. drive. She passed with no problem. Bottom line, No matter what Corvette you chose. There will always be someone here to help you.

After six weeks of ownership and not having a clue about any model year...
I chose 2007 because I figured all the first year bugs would be worked out.
Also the cost difference between the 2005 and 2007 were minimal.

I personally would look at the Tie Rods for worn out rubber.
If you hear belts chirping automatically knock 1000.00 off of the price or walk away.
The Harmonic Balancer is a bear to deal with.
Good tires is another must.

I thank everyone! This is exactly what I was looking for, and I agree %100 that the knowledge base on this forum is second to none! I will post if I get a C6.
Have a great summer, Atlas
