Default Winter Mod - Stinger Hood

I always wanted to try a stinger hood on my C6, so with winter weather here I ordered an SLP hood and my friends at Fantastic Body Shop did a great job fitting and painting it to my specifications. I am very happy with this new look! Next comes my new Corsa Sport exhaust....

Is the opening blocked off or does the engine compartment get wet during car washes/rain?

More likely to see me cruising around the St Charles area since I retired and moved late last year. Save the wave!

This is a functioning hood scoop. It directs some air flow on the engine compartment, but has a water drain system built in to redirect any water away from the engine.

I thought about customizing a black mesh grille for the scoop opening, but the painter did such a good job painting inside the scoop I decided to leave it open. Also the underside of the hood is painted and looks as good as the top side.

SLP makes the hood and other performance part for GM cars. They have worked with GM and made the hoods for the f-body Ram Air TransAm and Carmaro SS.

Here is the link to my hood: http://www.slponline.com/view_product_site.asp?P=100012
