Why are bugs drawn to my yellow Vette?

I've noticed that too. After enough of them get on there and start having their parties, they begin to relieve themselves on the paint. When they fly off, I have to clean up the poo. At first I tried covering the car with honey. When they landed, they got stuck and I could then smash them with a board. That didn't work very well. Lately, I have tried applying so much wax, that when they land on the paint, they slip off and break their necks when they hit the ground. That seems to work better (unless you're the bug!).

Man I miss washing the vette, its cold as hell here and its been stored since November. But I do remember back in the summer, bugs would be drawn to it. My car is silver, but I think it is the ingredients in the wax and the carwash I use attracted them onto the car. I know this because they were also drawn to the wash bucket.

Had a Millenium Yellow 2000 convertible.
Then later on, had a 2001 Millenium Yellow coupe.
I now have a Velocity Yellow 2006 convertible.
The bugs LOVE yellow.
They swarm around the car when I pull it out of the garage. If I go to a club meeting, a car show, etc., the bugs are swarming all over it.

I used to get a good laugh at Car Shows as the owners of the VY Vettes would franticly try to keep the bugs off their freshly polished car.
Needless to say it was a loosing proposition............there's something about Velocity Yellow
