Sorry about your situation, Sal, but I agree w. Chris above. If anyone asked me about this shop, based on how they plugged your tire, I wouldn't recommend them. I'd go so far as to state my opinion of them which is they don't know what they are doing based on that alone. The rest of it what they did, and didn't do just reinforces that opinion.

I am very lucky....the Discount Tire Company I use is great.....they even have there own jacking pucks in case the Vette owner does not. They have a bay towards the back of their shop that is reserved for low profile vehicles, and a tech that is trusted to handle the high line cars with very nice wheels.

He plugged the tire from the outside? That's a no-no. The tire has to be removed and then the tech needs to install a plug/patch combination from the inside.
For my cars other than the C6, I purchased Michelin tires at Costco and they repair flats with the plug/patch from the inside of the tire in accordance with Michelin's requirements.

A tip is a reward for good service and you rewarded him for his work. Why would you then expect him to make the effort to improve his knowledge and work ethic?

If they wouldnt lift the car, I would have been done. You always have the option of going somewhere else.
If I'm getting on my hands/knees on a dirty floor.. then I'm doing the whole job myself.

I’m guessing he was jealous and was acting like a dope. I’ve seen how the eyes of envy can turn people against someone with malicious actions and lies.

As far as the tipping goes. Gotta face facts. This guy is mexican as most of them are. Hes probably working for pennies on the dollar and is struggling to survive. Now we can talk about well than he should go back to his country and not cross our borders illegally all day however hes still a person. My 5 dollar tip probably made a difference in his day. So maybe he didnt deserve it but I dont feel bad about giving it to him.

I use these on MC tires, also.
It is safer and the ride is better.
Those stringy rope plugs always seem to make the tire bump when rolling down the highway.

Actually drove it on the highway this morning at speed and it was smooth as silk. I know its only a day but it had the exact amout of air in it this morning as ir did last night. Like I said earlier new tires are less than a month away. I only drive the car around 8 miles a day anyway so this shouldnt be an issue.

Not knowing the proper way to jack up a corvette is a very common thing. How many horror stories have we all read about broken rocker panels on this forum alone. I did improve his knowledge in this case and he wasnt an a $$ hole or anything he just didnt know how to do it without breaking the car. He now knows. As far as not being able to find the leak it was very small still no excuse if hes working in a tire shop he should be able to spot one. Once we found it he then did the work.
