Triumph Rocket III - 2300ccs and actually ridable (had a Big dog before that could not make it more than about 100 miles at a time) that the wife can tag along.

I rode the Rocket III a couple of times. What an animal! You are basically sitting on a bike with a car engine! Surprised at how nice it handled. The torque was unbelievable...

I bought my first motorcycle when I was 13 and my first vette when I was 17. Pretty much drove both my entire adult life. Quit riding and sold my last bike in 2010 but still driving my now 25th vette and have no intention of quiting driving vettes.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you quit riding motorcycles?

Used to be a 2 wheel rider. Last bike was a 2002 Yamaha Roadstar with every imaginable piece of chrome you could put on it (a nightmare to wash and dry). Sold it several years ago for a heater and a roof...a 2005 Corvette Coupe and never have looked back. Had numerous bikes since I was 15 years old. Even rode motocross a couple of years. Saw too many of my friends go down and decided I had had enough. Tired of getting wet and cold.

Just was getting too hard on my old body and felt after 50+ years of riding with no accidents or serious injuries it was time to quit pushing my luck.

Had a V-65 Magna but lost interest in it after getting my Vert. Sold it last summer, no regrets, had almost 20 years of fun on it. The Vert gives me the wind and fresh air experience but I don't have to wear leather and a helmet. The V-65 was quicker though...oh well.

No arguments from me! I have been pretty lucky myself. Not plan on giving it up anytime soon, but the day will surely come when riding will be no more.

I will admit, though, I have been thinking about scaling down the miles I ride on my motorcycles. Mainly, I am just plain scared of getting rearended or having someone turn in front of me. I have been riding for 30 years, pretty much non-stop. It just seems that more people are driving around distracted with cell phones, texting, etc. I have added conspicuity lighting to my tour bikes; such as blinking tail lights, headlight modulators, etc. Even with all that, I came very close to getting rear ended last year while stopped at a light. The driver behind me was texting and at the last minute, looked up, saw me, slammed on her brakes and swerved, just missing me...

So, if the convertible works out like I hope, I am really going to reduce the time spent on two wheels. I am lucky enough to live in rural farm country, so I feel pretty safe riding around in the country.

Hopefully, the Corvette, with the top down, gives me and my girflfriend a similar experience to riding a motorcycle.

Great comments from all!

Also been riding since '72. Current bike is '06 Harley Heritage owned since new with 80K+ miles and on it's second engine - first went at 50K and Harley gave me a new one. Ride it M-F on my 80 mile r/t commute which, if you live in SoCA, saves a couple of hours a day. Oh, and you can wear a suit to the office - just pack the coat in your saddle bag.

Well learned to ride on dirt bikes that belonged to friends owned 2 harley sporsters 74 kick start and 76 electric start. A lady in a station wagon convinced me I wasn't a bike rider sold it and haven't looked back. Oh I owned vetts this whole time. Now my son inlaw rides and needs to quit because of young son.

My first bike was a 78 750 suzuki , in 07 I decided I wanted a new bike and ended up with a 06 k1200s due to the rebates and the bmw's abilities . It was a year later I wanted the vette but it did not happen till the 2013's were available
