Default Your Thoughts Please

Shortly after I purchased my '06 a forum member traded his car for a ZO6. He had just installed a Corsa system on his car and removed it before trading. He sold me the system and I installed it on my car. The car now has 32,000 miles and the x-pipe is coming apart. I wrote Corsa knowing the lifetime warranty did not apply but hoping for a replacement at cost. They offered the wrong pipe at a discount and when I ask for the correct pipe they referred me to Summit Racing for a retail purchase. Am I wrong to expect anything?

Thanks
Earl

my thoughts are that since you did not actually buy anything from them, it was a used part, I would not be surprised they did not offer you anything.

Why not take the old pipe to a muffler shop and have them weld it???

If you did not buy the wrong pipe they offered, then i would say nothing you can do. If you bought the wrong pipe on their recommendation, i would say they owe you your money back and that's it.

Now, about the corsa. I'm assuming you have the touring system? If so, the touring has the same axle back setup (mufflers) as the sports. (the only difference from the ports and touring is the touring has the corsa xpipe to lower the sound a little.) Therefore, if it were me, I would get my hands on a stock mid pipe from someone that is doing a header install for dirt cheap and have a nice sounding sport system...

PS someone was just offering a corsa xpipe for $100 in the for sale section, see if its the one you need and if its still for sale if thats the one you want...

Default Thanks

I think I will take the pipe down and see if I can get it repaired locally. I drove the car yesterday and it is getting much worse. Thanks to all who replied and offered help.

Have a muffler shop weld it and it will be good as new.
