Low beam bulb replacement
I've upgraded my high beam bulbs to PIAA H9's and they were easy to change. Are the low beams just as easy or is there some extra requirements needed because of them being HID?
I have a co-worker with a 2008 that has one low beam not working. He got a quote from the dealer of $400 to replace the bulb. If the low beam bulbs swap out as easy as the high beam bulbs, I'd like to convince him to save his money.

No, the low beam bulbs supposedly don't change out as easily.
Here's what my 2012 owner's manual says.
Here's what my 2012 owner's manual says.
The low beam high intensity
discharge lighting system
operates at a very high voltage.
If you try to service any of the
system components, you could be
seriously injured. Have your
dealer or a qualified technician
service them.

Low beams are easy but be careful.
There are two small torx screws that hold the bulbs in place (one on each side of the bulb housing). The clip that the screws go through are removable to put on the housing of any upgraded bulb you might put in. If you're not careful that small screw can drop and be lost. You don't want that to happen.
I use a magnetized Torx and my finger under the screw as I loosen it to be sure to get the screw as I take the bulb out.
I swapped bulbs in both my 10 and my 13 with the bulbs from a forum vendor that are of a different color temp.
Good luck.
