Something strange going on
Left work tonight in the 2012 GS. It was cold out, so I was driving, I was waiting for it to get warm enough to turn on the heater. I did the "accept" on the Nav and I noticed it had the car going horizontal. I always have it going vertical. touched a button and changed it. When the temp got up there, I turned on the heater and set both ***** to 90 degrees.
Went a little farther and noticed the time readout was showing an hour later than it was.
Then the nav went back to the "accept" screen, the DIC displayed "Street Mode" for a split second, then the odometer came up. Have never seen "Street mode" before and it was large letters.
I pushed "accept" again and the nav came on. About that time I noticed that the temp settings were at 60 and the air had come on. CD player was now off, and the displayed time was now correct.
Have no idea what happened. Car ran fine.
Any ideas? Anyone ever seen "Street Mode" on the DIC?

Sounds like the beginning of the rise of the machines. If I were you I'd drive it into a lake and hope it doesn't become self aware, thus plotting the eradication of the human species. Just my opinion.

Only one fob in the car. I was wondering if The fob in my pocket could have pushed any buttons and if so, would that do anything while going down the road? I have had the alarm go off when I am getting out of my chair with the fob in my pocket.

Have you checked the car setting for both fobs to see if they are what the settings were being changed to, including the time display (not even sure if that's able to be adjusted differently between the fobs)? Doesn't really seem related to the fobs by your description. I'd venture electronic gremlins or battery.

nothing on a fob could change memory settings.
1/2 driver settings on door button could change defaults.
or as others say, low voltage has done strange stuff , almost unpredictable things.
oh, i set the horn off before, worse opened hatch when i sat down in the car.. got out and closed it.. 3 times at the bank before i took the dang fob outa my pants pocket!! lol

We have learned that when any electrical problem starts with the C6 the first thing to check is the battery. Even a new one can cause problems. The only way to check a battery is with a load tester. Many parts stores will do it. I recently bought one. They are easy to use and fairly cheap.

I believe I have it figured out. Over the weekend I put my GS fob in the ket box as I was driving the Caddy all weekend. Monday I put the Caddy fob in the box and got the GS fob out.
This morning on the way to work, I noticed the time was an hour advanced again. I figured that in a few minutes it would do what it did the night before and the time would be right.
Nothing, so I just reset the clock to the right time.
Left the shop tonight and I thought i noticed something about driver 2 on the DIC. I am driver 1.
The heater was on and had a nicew ride home. Got close to home and decided to see what would happen ip I pushed the #1 button while going down the road. Driver 1 came up on DIC and heater went off. Now I had the suspission that I had my wifes fob.
When I got home, I parked the car, got out locked the doors, got back in and started it. Sure enough Driver 2 on DIC.
These C6 fobs are not numbered. Our C5 fobs are numbered. What threw me last night is the seats dodn't move when using her fob. She is much shorter than me and in the C5 her for runs the seat so far up I can't fit.
So apparently when Driver 1 changes the time off of DST, it is still on DST when Driver 2 uses the car unless they also change it.
I have long legs, and I will sometimes pull my left leg back until my foot is up against the seat, then rest my leg against the door. I noticed that that puts my knee right at the #1 button.
So last night I started home as Driver 2, and hit the #1 button with my knee and it made everything change.
I feel much better tonight knowing it was a wrong fob error and nothing is wrong with the car.

Both my FOBS are numbered as well. Hard to see clearly, but they are.
