Temperature Problem ??
2007 Z06
The display;
Hot Engine - Turn off AC
The Gauge:
Still on cold (100 degrees)
Any ideas as to what the problem may be?
Disconnecting the battery will clear it up fpr a couple days.
Thanks!

It could mean you have a coolant leak and the coolant has gotten low. Normally, that would trigger a low coolant warning but it doesn't always do that. It might be a good idea to see if there are any ECM codes. Not all ECM codes will trigger a CEL.
I don't think you have this issue but my daughter got this warning on her 09 Pontiac Torrent last September. She was only a lonely upstate NY Interstate when it came on. She pulled over made sure the AC was off (even though the ambient temp was 40 degrees), checked the temp gauge and it looked OK. After sitting for a while the warning went off and she started driving again. Less than a mile later the message came on again and the engine turned its last turn leaving her stranded in the dark with nothing but cows around. Head gasket leak into a cylinder caused water to get into the oil and all sorts of bad stuff happened in short order. When the dealer checked the engine there was no coolant in the system but there was plenty in the oil and the oil pump has seized. GM replaced the engine under warranty.

I wonder if the gauge and the warning message gets their readings from different sensors. It definitely sounds like a sensor issue since it seems to reset by disconnecting the battery.
