Wow - glad you didn't get "jacked" - or worse - when sleeping overnight in your vette along the Mexican coastline...........

Yeah I have been driving Corvettes for years and over 100,000 miles and have never seen such a convergence TOTALLY OUT OF THE BLUE

It really was quite the adventure!!! It is a privately owned campground with one road in, one road out, and the owner is a retired higher up in the San Diego PD who keeps an eye on things. I even partied around a campfire with a group of about 6 guys going to a VW car show in Ensenada the following day. They spoke no English, I speak no Spanish but we all spoke "car" and they really got a kick out of the Vette. I even let one guy drive me up the road to Ensenada in it for some supplies. In return, I got freshly grilled shredded beef to go with the fresh tortillas. With that risk came some great reward

Maybe the guy mentioned the engine swap because his other car is a Z-51 C6 which is "almost" just the same thing as a Z06...who knows?

I don't understand the protect the innocent comments.
and he pulls into space nose to nose with the blue one. As he is getting out of his Vette
It occurred to me that he was leary of me because he didn't know I owned the C6
I would think he did know if you had just parked next to the blue one & was still there while he was pulling into the lot.

1.) Didn't want to in any way say, hint or imply that any particular model owner would be more likely to engage in the described behavior. I have been here in the Corvette Forum long enough to know THAT happens from time to time.
2.) For all he MIGHT have known, I was some street dude checking the blue and red(mine) Vettes for a theft opportunity. I was totally out of my car when I saw him pulling into the lot. I was wearing non-fancy workout sweats and a semi-grungy black ball cap--- very common street guy garb here in Phoenix
