Default Grand Sport Price

Looking at a new 2012 1LT Grand Sport with NPP exhaust and chrome wheels. Window sticker $61,400 dealer asking $48,700 with rebate and owner loyalty. Any thoughts on the price good/bad? I feel it is a little high since it is a 2012. My guess used this is a $38,000-$40,000 car?
Any input would be appreciated.

Looks pretty good to me, but only you can make that call. Just make them a lower offer and see what they say.

Not bad.

That's $12,700 off of a 1 LT. They have less to work with. Go for it if it's the car you want. I doubt they'll be dealing on C7's for a while.

See if you can join USAA for additional discount.

Sounds a bit high. Back in October I picked up a new '13 GS 2LT with an MSRP of $66,404. I got it for $14,028 off the sticker.

I always look at the big three to see where their pricing is, since they do smoking deals right now. to get a quick idea, go to kerbeck's site where they have their pricing right out for anyone to see on new. its in the range of a 13, maybe a tad less but not much

I just bought a used 2012 GS 3LT after searching for a long time so I'm pretty familiar with pricing. That actually is a pretty decent price. If you are paying cash you might be able to talk them down a couple of hundred but if its the car you want, I wouldn't let it get away for a couple of hundred. Grand Sports are excellent performance cars and a blast to drive because of their exceptional handling. Not sure if it's an auto or not but, if it is, the paddle shift software was upgraded in 2012 making them even more fun. That alone is worth a couple of hundred..at least...relative to a 2011!

2013 1LT GS coupes are running about $10K off MSRP from the forum dealers. Take off another $3K on top of that if you qualify for the owner loyalty rebate. This car is right in that range, and you have a 0% financing option on that car that I don't think 2013 models have.

I realize what you are evaluating, but its not a used car. It will be the minute you drive it out, but in fairness to them they can't pay you to drive it away.

You will know you have hit their limit when THEY walk away from the table. Offer them $42k (in person) and tell them this will close the deal tonight. see if they bite. If not, you'll know.

Check on the mileage. Dealer demo or exec car then it wouldn't be a good deal even though they say it is still new. Less than 100 miles or so and I say it is a decent deal. It wouldn't hurt to ask for a lower price.

I think there is another $3,500 off out there on the 12s. In fact I know a dealer who has a new '11 vert 3lt, and there may be more. However I told him here's what I'll look at the book value of a used 11 at 5k miles and that is what I'll pay for it. To me unless you are going to keep it a long time, that is the only way to factor in the impact of buying a car that has been sitting one or two years.

Paid 49 for mine, similarly equipped (sans npp, tho), so sounds like a good deal to me, if its the color you want!

FWIW, I don't think it's a bad price, if low miles & never titled. It's just below the starting base price of the 1LT coupe,
but you're getting a GS with some options.
