2LT Seat upgrades - Heated Seats?
As a taller guy, with lower back problems I'm looking at upgrading the driver seat on my 2012 GS Vert 2LT. I've got my parts ordered for the foam and lumbar support upgrade (fixed, not the air bladder) and I started thinking about heated seats.
Can factory heated seats and switches be installed to the existing harnesses? Has anyone tried this?
If not, are there any aftermarket ones that are worth installing?

Did some research on this, and everything I've found says "No". There's a lot more to it than just the heating elements and the switches.
There seem to be favorable reviews for "HeatedSeatKits.com" if you still want to add them. I'm thinking about buying the factory switches and integrating them with this kit for a factory look. However, I'm not sure if the factory switches are the right type...too busy to buy them and find out. The local upholstery shops want ~$300/seat to install the kit under the covers on the 2012/13 style seats.

Here in Nashville we have a company that has been in business for years that does auto customization. Like the OP I also have the 2LT option. Just before Christmas I stopped in and asked if they could install heated seats on my 2013 coupe? They said that it wouldn't be a problem and the total cost would be $700. Plus they would run the swithes through the dash where GM installed the "plugs" for a factory job look.

different wiring harnesses, etc.
I'm sure it can be done, but not as easily as it would first seem.

But it looks like you found the most often recommended source.
Here's a prior thread with info that may help:

They have done work for me in the past. They do it all...sunroofs, pinstripping, window tint, body kits, running boards, leather upholstery and heated seats. A lot of the dealers in the area take their work to them. They do great work and at good prices.

Thanks for the tip... After your post, I went digging and found someone who will do the install for $350 per seat...and they'll do foam upgrades while its all open (for extra). Very pleased. Now I just need some decent weather to get the vette out of storage (though it is 50 today and tomorrow)

I'm looking into doing this,,, so far I'm thinking if you have lumbar seats already, I'm doubting gm ran a different harness for 3lt and 2lt. I'm going to see if buying the obvious parts (switches, seats, and seat heater control module) and attempt to see if it's plug and play. The reason I'm doubting gm, is based on installing the Hud into non-3lt cars. Anybody want to let me borrow a heater control module?

Logically, I agree that you would think they would have one harness. But from what I've read there is no plug and play solution...if you find out otherwise, let us know.

Maybe the same harness between 2lt and 3lt. Going the 3lt has the extra control module....cost around $100. All the threads i have found were trying to convert 1lt. Hoping somebody from GM would chime in, if i can find a used module, hopefully get this figured out this weekend. My background is 13 yr Air Force aircraft electronic warfare technician. Seen a few wiring diagrams in the past.
