Default My freshly washed vette

I've been a forum member and have been driving my vette long enough now so I figured I'd take a couple photos and share. She's a '13 GS coupe, M6, with no mods yet other than M2W exhaust. I washed her yesterday and here are the results...

Nice. I love the look of the dark colors, but I don't have that kinda time to keep them looking so clean. Well done.

I see photos like this and it makes me forget all about the C7 (none of which we're likely to see on the street before 2014 (and where I live maybe 2015!). I have no regrets at all about purchasing my 2012 Grand Sport! Unlike the C7, I fell in love with the C6 the moment I saw it - love at first sight. Instant classic imo and even more so in the wide body version.

Naw, it's black. I do see some blue coming through though, my guess is that it's just the reflection of the blue sky. It was an absolutely beautiful day outside yesterday, it was even a little bit warmer than it has been the last few days. I actually worked up a sweat washing it.

Funny you mention that because as I was washing it, I promised myself that I would never buy another car that couldn't go through an automatic car wash. But then I told myself, "who am I kidding? No matter what car I buy next, I'm not going to want to send it through one of those. Those things are for my wife's car and pickups." I'll probably just compromise and pick a color that doesn't have to be washed after only a couple of days on the road.

But for the record, mine is a daily driver. I still have my old pickup for days when the weather is really bad, but in SC, that's not too often. I thought I was just buying a car but what I really ended up with was a new weekend hobby, it's called washing my Corvette.

I had a 2 week old 3/4 ton Chevy and on the way home from work I stopped at an automatic car wash that advertised "Car Truck & Van wash". Attendant came out and washed the tires tucked in my mirrors and hooked me up to the chain that pulls you through. All was fine until I got to the drying blower at the end and the truck was too wide with the mirrors to go through. I felt like I was in a tin can being crushed, it was stuck and the chain pulled until it snapped, both doors crushed, both mirrors torn off and they had to pull me out. I was in shock it was scary to say the least. They tried to say it was my fault because the Truck was too big. Needless to say their insurance finally paid in full. I never go to car washes anymore.

C6GS/Z06/ZR1 is Corvette perfection for me. I just got my C6GS, so I won't be in the market for a new one for a while, but even if I was, I would pass on the C7.

I really wanted the '12 Centennial Edition, but I hated the picture of LC used in the center caps of the wheels and steering wheel. I didn't want him to be staring at me every time I drove my car, but I did really like those CE seats. My '13 is basically the same exact car, just a slightly different shade of black, no racing stripes, and no weirdo creepin' on me. And looking back, I'm glad I went with the '13 now, I'd rather have a 60th Anniversary Corvette over the 100th anniversary of Chevrolet.
