Same with my 2008 Vette..I would take her back..I'm sure the dealer has some off site detail specialist...Be careful with that NRBM..as you can see its very heavy in metalic...

Taking it back for a detail, is a 160 mile round trip for me, and I don't know who will be detailing it, or taking it for a spin. I can do it, I have all the right pads for the needed steps. It's just going to take some time, once the weather plays nice. What I did do already, was pull the wheels, and remove some of the gap between the wheels, and fenders...She's sitting a little lower now

Nice new ride you got. Why not make the dealer pay to have the swirl marks taken away? Can't hurt to ask.

Thank you. I just don't trust them to do it the way I want it done. I know if I do it, it'll be done to my own satisfaction. I've always done my cars, started helping my Dad when I was a kid. Now, with all the good stuff out there, it's much easier than it was back in the 70's. I've got a Porter Cable, and all the Lake Country pads I need to do it, just my time that I'll be out.

Update...Good and bad...
The good...After 11 hours of washing, compounding, polishing, and waxing, the paint is perfect, not a scratch or swirl to be seen.
The Bad...When I picked the car up, it was already dark, and was inside the dealers service bay being "shined up". I haven't had time to drive it since buying it, due to weather, etc. So yesterday, when I started my detail work(first day without freezing temps), I got to look everything over well. As I started to clean the dash, I notice a small circle, just shy a complete 360*, on the lower left corner of the heat/ac window. As I run my finger across it, it's actually deep, and as stated, almost a perfect circle. I was baffled as to what would cause it, it defied explanation...Until my son came out to get a better look at the car. I showed him, and he sat for a minute with a baffled look on his face. Just then, the look changed, he popped the ashtray open, and pulled the lighter out...Bingo. The question is, how did it happen? Lighter looks completely unused, and in brand new condition, of course the Vette only had 5 miles on the ticker. Accident, on purpose?

Hate to say it, but my bet is it was on purpose.
Perhaps some jackass sat in the car on the showroom floor and just to be a little buttwipe quickly did that while the salesman wasn't looking. Or, disatisfied employee at the dealership... or maybe one of the porters, making $12/hour wanted to show "rich" Corvette buyers what he thought of them.
It is really disappointing what some azzholes will do. When I owned my 1972 Stingray, I once parked it at a community fair. Came back from the fair to the car and something caught my eye: Someone had crumpled a napkin around the butt of their cigarette and stuck both in the corner of my front bumper. WTF?
Another time, same car, I parked in my parking garage for my apt complex - at the time - which was a loooong time ago - after work. I went inside and then remembered I'd forgotten something in the car. Came back to it and someone had spat a huge loogey right in the center of my windshield. I was very angry at first but then almost felt sorry for that person. They must have been such a loser, with no accomplishments or ambition in life that they just got insanely jealous that I had a '72 Vette.
The moral of this overly long story: some people are jealous azzholes.

Yep, brand spankin new. You should have seen the paint, it looked like a 10 year old kid washed it with a scuff pad. I've bought a lot of band new cars in the past several years, none have had paint in this bad of shape.
