Replacing headlight color

Replacing headlight color
Hey guys,
I've got a question on replacing or coloring the headlights of the C6.
I've searched the forums and I'm getting some mixed results on the level of effort to get these changed.
I want to change out the color of my headlights, the parts that look like this:
(not my picture, got it off Google )
I'm reading that its very labor intensive but is that referring to the actual lamps and bulbs or is it referring to the part above? Is it difficult to swap out colors of the headlight?
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Probably cheaper in the long run to buy a couple headlights in the color you want. As I understand it the headlights are sealed units and are very difficult to get apart. There is a company on the forum occasionally that does that for a price but I'm not sure what cost or how long it would take.

This is not an easy DIY mod.
Check the For Sale section and maybe you can find a pair in the color you want.
Forum Vendor RLSebring performs headlight repairs and does this mod too. Sometimes he has an exchange set of lights in stock.

I've had several hundred customers do their own headlights. Feedback ranged from easy breezy to having Satin's spawn. I will say if patience isn't a virtue with you don't do it your self. I do about 10 sets a week, mostly in my sleep now.
