2006 Coupe Passenger Side Rearview Mirror
I had a van force me over on a 55 MPH street. Passenger mirror clipped a parked Honda. I had laid on the horn but he never even looked.
The glass blew out (mirror) and the housing slammed into the window which didn't break. The mechanism doesn't seem to work to adjust the mirror (fuse maybe?).
I have seen cheap assemblies that weren't painted that run about $80-90. My mirror housing, other than a red paint mark, is in good condition.
How tough would it be to swap the guts between mirrors? That is assuming that when I check the new mirror the guts will be the same.
Is there a better way to do this?
Not having that mirror is a huge handicap.
Thanks for any info or help.

I had that happen to my new car. The mirror glass broke but the guts were good. The mirror glass was @ $40 at the dealer. If you need the assembly, try Corvette Recyclers in Utah first.

I know it is a different car but I did what you are talking about on a 2003 Impala. Purchased a complete unpainted unit and pulled the guts out of it. Only needed the motor and glass. Was not hard.
