GO PRO on the outside of the car
After I download the video, I have an awful rattling noise the fast I go or hot bumps in the road. I wedged a piece of sponge in the back. Maybe I need to wedge something on the side of the camera too.

Not related to the sound question but curious, wHat are you using to attach it to the car, the suction mount or the VHB 3M tape mount?

The rattling is the case hitting the mount. When using the suction mount, make sure that the mounting arms are not bent at angles where they contact each other. That will prevent the rattling.
There should also be a small rubber grommet that can be used with your hard mounts to stop that rattling.

If you're not using a quality external mic (I recommend the Zoom Recorder), then I'd check out one of these as well.
Another thing I'll mention is to not be afraid of that suction mount. I've personally been above 130mph filming at PPIR with it and no issues. I've seen videos of cars nearing 180 mph with it not coming off as well.

I've been using the GoPro's for a few years now and haven't had any problems with them rattleing in their cases. All my camera's once in their cases don't move at all and I've had them mounted in many area's outside of the car. Here is a 1 clip from last years Vette's for Vet's at Talladega SuperSpeedway last May. I had 2 mounted on my old C5. And the 2nd is one camera mounted on the back of our C5 drag car that traps 130-133 MPH

Yup, use that rubber grommet next time and you won't get that popping noise!

I've watched thousands of youtube vids over the years, but yours hands down wins. I'll probaby watch your vid again later today, then tomorrow, next week, and a few more hundred times. Rinse, lather & repeat.
Awesome video! Squared. X 4.
I want to be in Talledega May 2013 with my G sport.

I had a GoPro, but lost it while diving off the coast of California. That is another story. I had to have mine replaced before I lost it, because the lens inside the actual camera came loose from its mount, and caused a rattle like you are talking about. It was a glue that they used in manufacturing that was defective. The way I knew it was in the camera and not the camera in the mount was that I could shake the camera itself and hear the rattle. The other indication is that the camera would go in and out of focus durring my shoots. Something to check into.
