C6 Still Looks Good

I have been over on the C7 forum most of the time for that past few days, but I just finished a quick detail on my '07 Monterey Red Metallic coupe and I still think it is a sexy looking vehicle. We all knew that one day our C6's would not be top dog, but I happen to think they still are right up there.
Will I move up to a C7, mostly yes, but I don't see it for a few more years.

So next time you come down here from he C-7 section make sure you pay the toll. And be prepared to pay alot more for the C-7 with new 7 spd. manual and this multi-displacement system.

I wish I still had my C-4 LT4 CE Vert, but I sold it for a C-5 Vert.
C5 burned to the ground, got a C-6. Nicer car, but I would still have the C5 apart from the fire.
I will buy a C-7 the same way I bought my C-6. Six years old with less than 10K miles, I am more than happy to have someone else pay the depreciation for me......until then I STILL have a corvette. I may have another C-4 CE before a C-7 and that would be just fine. Poor Me......

The numbers I have seen are saying C6Z curb weight (3180lb) or less for the base stingray (the C6 GS is 3300lb) with a power pump of at least 20hp and similar torque bump... but this is an assumption. Until the power numbers are released, we can't really guess what the car will do in the quarter or to 60. This aside, based on a ~3100lb car and ~450 hp, PLUS launch control, all the other tech goodies, way stiffer frame and suspension improvements, I think we can safely assume the new Stingray will easily best the LS3 cars in performance. If I had to write down a number, I'd say low to flat 12 in the quarter and 3.9-4.0 to 60. Maybe it won't live up to that... but somebody would need to show me something that would convince me otherwise at this point. How great of a day and age do we live in that there are reasonably priced cars on the market that provide performance that was the stuff of legend 10 years ago

I have driven vettes since the early 70's and this conversation has been had each time they change the body style. I have had one of each and have loved them all. Still have a C4 vert and enjoy it when the weather is good. My C5 was an upgrade and sure my C6 is a better car yet, and I am sure the C7 is even better, but any vette is an honor to own and fun to drive. I'm sure I will move up in the next couple of years, but meanwhile I am not embarrassed to drive my C6.
That's because you are an Enthusiast and while some others are Owners....I like you, am a Corvette Enthusiast, and in truth love them all. Each in their own right are special. I too will keep my C6 for now, but no doubt will be a C7 owner some day.
Owners come and go with the trends.

I agree with the earlier post that the C-6 is the best looking 'Vette since the mid-years- I hope the C-7 will be even better. Regardless, the C-6 is what made the 'Vette a world class sports car, in looks and performance!

The C-6 has smoother lines. The New C-7 has lots of angles. I am curious of how much trouble the multi-displacement of 4 to 8 cylinders going to be.
So next time you come down here from he C-7 section make sure you pay the toll. And be prepared to pay alot more for the C-7 with new 7 spd. manual and this multi-displacement system.

C6 is timeless. I do not like the cyl. deactivation, VVT or D.I. on the C7.
