Default Got my LG long tubes today but 1 is damaged

Got my LG long tubes today from Marryland speed. I got them to send of to there coater to get chrome dipped. They look great except for the 1 header that got dropped on the end and bent it outta round where the cats go. I sure hope a machine shop can fix this or im gonna pissed off.

If the shop caused the damage, they should repair (to your satisfaction) or replace. Also not sure what you mean by "bent it outta round where the cats go". The connection between the header & the cat is a thick flange.....would take a hefty shot to bend out of round.

I would contact them about the issue first. More than likely it was damaged in shipping.

In bold above, do you mean that Maryland Speed sent your headers to the Coater as part of the sales package? If yes, contact Maryland Speed before the coater. Maryland speed should work this out with you...

I agree with the above. OP, not trying to knock you, but trying to fix it with your shop/installer is not a good idea. You didn't do the damage.

I'd say start w. Maryl. Speed, and go from there. They sent it off for coating. They will know how and what to do.

Yes thanks i will phone Marryland speed tomorrow about this issue. They where package extremely well so honestly think myself it was the coater who dropped one then still coated but is very possible shipping did but i cant see it. What i mean by outta round is the part at the end where the cats hook got pushed in at the end in 2 spots. Its not really that bad but i paid $1800 to squeeze every last bit of HP outta these and that would be a restriction. http://i46.tinypic.com/16kl1z.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/do2ct5.jpg

Not knowing the product, intuitively, it's not normal...

It's great that you thought to start a disgrunted thread before contacting the vendor .....

You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. That clearly looks to be a shipping error and will easily come out with a hand dolly and hammer.

If I recieved those it would hardly merit a mention in the day.

Probably won't even need to pop it out. Once you put the cats in and tighten it down they should bend to the right shape from the clamp. Super minor in my opinion.

this is bascally a criticism of a vendor who hasn't had a chance to deal with the problem and who may be completely blameless. Should wait on these threads until you hear back from the vendor and then post.

After looking at the pics I would agree. Not worth the time dealing with a claim etc. Install and everything will be fine.

Well Marryland speed got a hold of me. They say its a 5 min quick fix and will cover the charge to fix it. I guess i gotta go to an exhaust shop tomorrow to get done. Thank god its not that bad just minor. I did tell them they should cover there ends of the pipe with foam so this doesnt happen to any future customers.

They aren't the ones packaging them. The only exhaust manufacturer I have dealt with that foams their pipes is Magnaflow. The occurrence of bent pipes is pretty low. Adding packaging increases shipping weight and the cost of every package shipped. Just two ways of looking at the business I suppose. Glad it worked out.

It wasnt a big deal at all. The guy at the muffler shop fixed it in like 10seconds. They got this cone that goers on the end and you tap with a rubber hammer and all fixed. Just like new again.
