I plan to attend and cannot wait!
I have wanted to run Talledega (and Daytona) for a long time but never had the car or the means to do it. Now I do. And watching your youtube video really sealed an already sealed deal, if that makes sense! Very well put together and edited, not to mention the sweet home Alabama tune. AWE-SOME!

Q: Do I need a helmet or fire suit?
A: No, just wear your seatbelt. Long pants, shorts, bikinis, etc are all approved attire. Please do not ride or drive in
the nude.
Q: Can I take passengers with me on the track?
A: Yes, as long as they are in a seat and are wearing a seatbelt. There is no age minimum for passengers, but
drivers must be 18 years of age.

Wifey and I plan to attend this year as well. I hope we get in a group that does not think they have to slow down to 45 mph through turns 3 and 4....

Hey Craig good to hear from you.. It will be nice to get to visit with you and your wife again. At least this year we are coming in a new car and hopefully not have the problems we had last year with our old C5...

Generally you run slow down the front stretch and into turn 1 in order to get spaced out so you have room to accerate down the 4,000 ft back stretch(I've done 162 MPH) then slow down to 140 (depending on how slow the car in front of you is going) diving into turn 3, slowing down to 100 in turn 4 and then 45-50 across the start/finish line, as everyone will run upon the rear bumper of the pace car. You have to slow down past the start/finish line in order to let the pace car and the first 3-4 cars to starting getting sopme distance between them entering turn 1. I usally am able to go WOT at 140 MPH in the middle of turn 2, and get a good run down the back stretch. If all you want to do is 95(pace car speed), and then maybe some short spurts to 110, or so, then no need to slow down to 45. Just be at the front of the pack, right behind the pace car.
The times we have gone, we went as a group(12 cars) so we could make up most of the 15 car field in our group. That way we could decide among ourselves, the lineup order in which we would run. You don't want a 500 HP in front of a 300-350 HP car running in the middle of the group in front of a 500-600 HP car as the slower car will hold the faster car back as it won't be able to keep up with the faster car in front of it. It really does make a difference in how you organize the cars and drivers.
If you have someone that wants to run closer to the pace car's speed all the way around the track, then you put them right behind the pace car. The ones that want to run really fast part of the way around the track, and also realize they will have to run slow around part of the track, get positioned from mid pack on back.
I'It's impossible to run 95 for the slowest speed and then 150 at the fastest speed and then average 95 speed.

Pace car runs around 95 MPH all the way around the track. If you want to run 150+ on some parts of the track, you must run slow on some parts of the track in order to average around 95 MPH(you can't pass the pace car, or any car).

We were there 2 years ago...the Pace Pickup was doing 95-100 the whole way around the track....you would think that C5 and C6s could handle the same speeds.
The event is a great time...just some people are affraid to drive their cars.
Hope to see you there in the "Fast" group!

I found a really nice 09 3LT Blade Silver Coupe not far from y'alls neck of the woods and the deal was just to good to pass up. Car came with a brand new A&A S-Trim/Kooks long tubes/Meth tuned and dynoed at Lethal Racing in Laffayette. Car is a beast and is so much nicer then my C5 ever was !! We are coming in Thursday afternoon also so we all need to hook up for dinner somewhere...
