There are so many alternate ways to get in ANY car without a key.

Locksmith
Onstar (even if you didn't have it activated - they should have paid for a year of it for you to get it unlocked)
VIN cut key

There are so many alternatives - it pretty much means someone screwed up somewhere, wrecked it? left it outside and got broken into? those are the things that more than likely happened.

Hell -- even they really are that dumb, I would have told them they have 2 hours to go and pull out the glass from a corvette they have on site in stock and install it.

The sucky thing is that breaking of glass usually does screw up your paint (my RX8 was broken into years ago) And on top of that no matter how much you clean or vacuum you will always hear little micro bits of the safety glass rattling around in your door.

There's something they aren't telling you...

Correct, something about this does stink. I wouldn't buy any of their story. There is something they ain't tellin' you.

I've been on this site almost 10 years. I've read plenty of "dealer posts".

To the O.P. Sir, you win the award for presenting the best one I have heard.

They should take a window off a new car to get you on the road again

I wouldn't trust them to put air in the tires.

Good luck.

We're very sorry, but we locked your keys in the car and had to break your driver side window to get in the car.

Now they are saying that it will not be ready until the 8th. I have to drive to Fort Rucker AL to report to the Army Warrant Officer before the 8th. I can not believe they did not even call me before the decided to break into the car. Now I have to figure out how to get to the course on time, which may mean having to get a rental.
I hate to hear that, sucks a big one. I just hope you aren't naive enough to believe them. They can make it right, it's all in how you apply the pressure and how much.

Sounds like it could have been a smash & grab situation. Have you checked the car for missing items or other damage. If you do not get satisfaction quickly. Call the consumer affairs division of your state Attorney Generals office.

Thanks for Serving in the Military
