Corvettes 4 Old men with hairy chests who wear gold chains. Whats a young guy to do?
I have always liked and wanted Corvettes since i was a teenager. Now I am a 29 year old who makes a decent income and I can finally afford one. But everyone i come across seems to think that this is the kind of vehicle for old men who like to wear gold chains with hairy chests and tattoos. Kind of like Jersey Shore but now we have senior citizens on Viagra driving these beautiful machines. Are there any young professionals out there who drive or own these things? Also would i stick out like a sore thumb if i had a yellow c6 Z06???
IMO, a Vette is a car that every guys wants from the day he gets his drivers licence, but few can afford untill other priorities in life are met. Most of us are in our 40s and up by then. More power to ya if you can afford one at 29. Go buy it.
"Every one" are morons... Those stereo types are transams and camaro's left over from the '70's and 80's ...
Tell them to get it right lol

i'm in the same age bracket. it was the import days we grew up with at honda meets and what not. anything domestic wasn't cool or refined.
it's changing though,. myself and a few others on honda tech who have been there since the rice days are all looking at c6's
they just are a great performance value and a good looking car.
the 370z, sti and evo just don't have that GT car look of the c6 even though each one has certain strengths like the all weather ability of the sti and evo or the refined interior of the 370
none will touch a c6 stock vs stock on dry roads...paved roads that is
I am 26 and i have had zero issues with that stereotype. All my friends and family love it and always want rides. It is no big deal it is just an awesome machine.
I hear that old man chest hair talk all the time. Funny thing is it usually was from dudes who drove scions or something like that. There's always gonna be those guys who have to talk s%&# and hate. I can tell you that being a twenty something with a vette definitely brings more ladies your direction. I picked my C6 up on my 23rd bday.
Also, get whatever color you want. It seems like if you're relatively young with a vette, you stick out. Mines black, and I got a ticket the first month I had it, for going 72 in a 65 zone.
Most guys your age can only afford Hondas and Toyotas or some other type of econo-crap box, their views stem from jealousy. Don't worry about the haters.

You buy the car YOU want and enjoy it. Never in your life, should you change your mind because of others opinions about your style.

It is partly because not many young folk can afford to buy their Z06 new. Most young people buy them used. Count yourself lucky that you have $80K or so to spend.

I am 58 and that in no way describes me, ( except for the Viagra ).

My oldest son is 30 and has owned a 08 3LT coupe for the past 5 years. Plus I have been a continuous corvette owner since I had just passed the age of 21. That's now over 40 years of corvette ownership. Do I fit that stereotype??

Just because one can afford a C6 does not mean he can handle one. With your attitude you are better suited for a ricer with a fart can.
