I jack the car up using the lift up pucks then I place an old ( steeper ) set of ramps under the tires, then get under 'n drain it and look around.

If you don't have a low clearance jack, drive it onto 2 short 2 x 6's ( ft wheels only ) then you will have clearance for a standard jack.
