Haha not get walked. I've read a ton of threads on here about people getting walked by tuned 5.0s no way will I allow that to happen at strip or a track. ( I do plan on track days and taking lessons) just saying for 28k alot of money for me I want a car that will destroy 90% of cars or keep up . That's why there are turbos I guess haha

If you are only able to get the 05-10 GT with the 3v, then skip it. If you can get the vette over one of them, then hell yeah. But if you can get the 5.0, then I would want that over an 08 vette. A new 5.0 is very tough and has a nice mod cushion that will not be as expensive as the vette all day long. If you can swing a newer vette with less miles, then I would want that.

Yeah those blizzaks will make any car you can drive into a 4x4. They are totally awesome. I have friends here that drive their big HP cobras in the snow with no issues. Just need some salt bags in the trunk and those tires. Then you are good. But the real deal is they will be cheaper for the mustang in those sizes. And you can get 4 of the same size.

The 2-valves are just crap and the 4-valves without boost are not bad but the Mach 1 is about all I would buy....the older Cobra can suck it. Even the terminators had issues with the suspension when you start adding more power.
Older Cobras can suck it? I loved my two 4V Cobras. I want another one.

This has gotten really old & dumb. The stock vs stock LS2 vs LS3 difference is about 30 HP. Really not htat much.

They can suck it. In stock form.....they suck. They are slow, have to rev to get whatever little power they made and the IRS on them was a joke.

You can love them but they are slow. You had an LS1 F-Body.....you know how much faster they are than the 4V 4.sucks.

I told this kid to buy your car. Its in the price he is looking for.

Add some mods and watch that difference get much bigger. The LS3 is superior in every way. Getting an LS2 if you can get an LS3 is not smart.

I test drove a 2013 Mustang GT 6 spd. (No trac Pac option) with 3.31 rear end. You can still feel the bumps in the road.
also test drove an SRT-8 Dodge Challenger with 6 spd. 392 engine with 392 rear end. The Challenger winds hands down in the area of comfort with more room and has enough power even though Mustangs are a little bit faster. Mustangs are better for daily drivers and Challengers over the Corvette.

That's how it looks in terms of power stock to stock to stock. I have owned them all. The 5.0 is no joke. I ran 12.4@115 bone stock on stock tires. With a tune I went 12.0@117 still on the stock tires.
The new 32 valve 2012/2013 5.0 is very fast car in factory form.

If you are set on a Corvette and from reading your thread it really seems that is the case you should do a lot more homework on the pricing of these cars. Performance aside there is a wide variety of used vettes out there. As far as price is concerned some places like Auto Trader don't negotiate where private sale and other Chevy dealers will.

How good a negotiator are you? Look at this site just to get an idea of prices, mileage and years and see what happens. You know what they say about an educated consumer.

Corvettes by the Hundreds

Although you are young don't let a car payment strap you down. Best of luck hope you get your Corvette

I rented a 2012 Mustang in Vegas this year, only as a joke to my wife as she knows how I cannot stand them. Wow, what a complete piece of crap. It was a 5.0 litre and I was more unimpressed than even I thought I would be. What a complete POS. I think you would be better off with one.
