Default key fobs

I have a 2010 vette. I had to buy new fobs 1 and 2. Right now I start the car with key in glove box fob 2. When I reprogram the new ones will my info come up for them ? Thanks

Read these instructions fully before starting. If you have to use the glovebox slot now, it means the fob is properly programmed but has no battery power.

Fobs don't become magically unprogrammed.

OP: Why did you need to buy two new fobs?

The first fob my daughter ran over after it came apart on my husbands key ring. The other one fell behind my seat and was crushed and never worked right after that. It would never recognize a fob so I put it in the glove box. I have now bought the rubber fob covering so they can't come apart.

I have read the long and short programming instructions. Just want to make sure I am understanding them correctly. I have 1 orginal fob not being recognized by the car so I use the glove box slot to start the car so I know the glove box slot works. I bought 2 used fobs 1 and 2. I want to reprogram these and get rid of the non working one in glove box. So I can use long programming steps 11-22 to erase the 2 used fobs I bought memory and reprogram to my car and info. Correct ? Thanks

My guess is that the one that currently works only in the slot is not getting power from its' battery...for any number of reasons. This is why the car is telling you that the fob battery is low. If the fob is not snapped back together tightly, this is likely causing an intermittent contact with the battery. The long procedure is what you need to do...this will erase all existing fobs and program your two new ones to the car. The first one in the slot will be #1, so just put the one with "#1" on it in there first. Yes, you will start with step 11 and continue from there. The most likely place to have trouble is the turning of the metal key to kick the car into programming mode. Following the instructions are pages and pages of people's tips and tricks for doing that...lots of reading if you need to. Good luck!

You will start with step 11, but do not ignore all the previous instructions also...a battery tender or charger on the battery is important for example, as stated in the first paragraph.

Default Successful !

So proud of myself ! I hooked up the battery charger. I had to take off the one side of my back up camera so the key trunk would turn all the way. I programmed both remotes and everything works ! The dealer wanted $180.00, locksmiths $100.00 plus ! Thanks everyone. I printed the instructions and followed the long one. Now both remotes are in the rubber cover so they can't come apart !
