Default Vararam Issues

Took the Vararam apart yesterday to clean the air filter and noticed the foam seal on the bottom part had come off almost 1/2 way and it wasn't sealed right around the edges that mate up against the filter.

I took the whole thing out (top and bottom) and started cleaning it out and on the bottom part I noticed the seam on one side has a small separation where air could be getting in along the side. I don't think it would be an issue since it is before the filter but I am questioning whether or not I should put it back in and just glue the foam seal back on or just replace the whole thing? I have had it since I got my 2008 C6 so it is about 4-5 years old; I clean it one time per year so that can't be normal wear and tear right?

I called Vararam and I am waiting on them to call me back. Hopefully we can work out something and get this thing replaced; I do love the Vararam but not at the cost of my engine if I damage it by sucking up unfiltered air.

Just to provide an update on this; I called them and they sent me new foam gaskets and I used some Loctite on it to seal it on and to seal the small seam that had come apart. All is well now in San Antonio. :-)

I saw the same thing on mine during the first filter cleaning. I glued the gasket in place.

Vararam does provide good customer service, just to bad it is necessary as much as it is.

Ex Vararam user back to OEM with no worries.
