dealer told me it was an actual recall they replace cowling

Checked with my local GM Dealer, he said there are no recalls for this issue. Double backed tape is the easiest fix.

I have an 08 also.. I was honestly about to open up my entire dash before I read some more on the forums and found out it is a windshield cowl. :|

I put some clear silicone sealer along it - no more problems.

My '12 GS was built @ Jan/Feb of '12 & I've not had any issues, or noise, w/ my cowling in the past 6K miles since new, so I don't think this affects all 12's...

Just had this replaced as a recall on my 2012 grand sport, problem solved. part number is 25778761 for the record.

So just the Grand Sport, and not the coupe and convertible, Z06, ZR1, or 427? Now very, very strange.

Its the black plastic moulding vibrating against the windshield, There is
a TSB for it and your dealer should be able to fix it. My 2012 Grand
Sport had this problem, took it to the dealer after doing a search on this forum to find the problem. Its an easy fix. My service advisor
already knew about it and they fixed it in about 30 minutes.

My 08 started the cowl noise a week before the B to B warranty expired, so I was able to get the cowl replaced under warranty.

had mine replaced on my 2013 ZO6 after only 1 week, the noise is back again will be going back for another replacement. I checked the NHTSA RECALLS no mention of this on any Corvette

My dealer said there was a recall on it now. He hadn't looked at the details yet. Had the TSB sone on mine earlier and solved the noise, we'll see what this does.
