Default Cheap NPP control?

I'm getting ready to install a used set of NPP mufflers on my base '08, and I'm thinking about a cheap/easy way to control them.
Basicall, I need a vacuum hose from the engine to the mufflers, and some way to open/close the hose. Right??
I'm looking for some kind of manually operated open/closed, inline switch. Something like the push/pull or rotating switches used to control windshield wipers on old 30's-40's cars and trucks.
Obviously, I'd like to get something small that could be mounted under the dash or in the consol, that wouldn't be real obvious.
Another option would be a 12v solenoid and a rocker or push button switch. This would be a little more involved, but still simple.
Any thoughts on what parts would work?

They are a very helpful and reliable vendor and specialize in NPP type systems.

Cheap and easy? Run the vacuum hose to where you can reach it from the drivers seat and use vise grips to pinch the hose when you want loud exhaust.

All I needed for mine was a large push-button and an Add-A-Circuit. Put it on the dead pedal and works like a charm ...

But your car was equipped from the factory with NPP exhaust, right?

I think the OP is looking for a cheaper alternative to something like NPP-in-a-Box...

A few people have saved a few dollars by engineering their own vacuum control box, so you may want to search for those threads.

My best advice to the OP is to start the NPP installation by tapping the vacuum source on the back of the intake first. If you can manage to do that successfully, it's all downhill from there.

He could have sold them as they do have some value and replaced them with a stock set that he had or took in trade. That would make more sense. Before you buy this kit get it on a lift and look for vacuum lines and a manifold tap for the vacuum lines. I'll bet they are there. At that point you can decide what system you really want and shop from there.

OK wise guy
This IS the basic plan, but I will use some kind of a air switch or electrical switch/solenoid combo to make it a little more convieniant.
Looking here for hardware recomendations.

I considered MacGyvering my own vacuum solenoid too. After waisting a lot of time on it I just ordered the NPP in a box. It has the T, tubing, directions etc.

Good luck with it. All you need is the solenoid the NPP in a box has and switch it with 12 vdc. The remotes are a gimmick. I could do without them.
