Attended a car show briefly today...met another Corvette owner...the convo went like this...

ME: hey, are you the owner of the Velocity Yellow over there?

HIM: yup!

ME: cool, I'm the arctic white right there.

HIM: BUT DOES YOURS HAVE THE SPECIAL Z51 RACE PACKAGE?

ME: (confused) ummm...no...(thinking why???)

HIM: OH MY, COME ON LET ME SHOW YOU...BLAH BLAH BLAH...THEY WANNA BUY IT BACK FROM ME BECAUSE I HAVE THE LOWEST MILEAGE IN THE AREA...BLAH BLAH BLAH...YEAH YOU SEE THOSE ROTORS?...HECK THE TIRES ARE STILL THE ORIGINAL RUBBER IT CAME WITH...BLAH BLAH BLAH...ONLY HAD 2 MILES WHEN I GOT IT...BLAH BLAH BLAH...I ALMOST DIDN'T BRING IT OUT TODAY BECAUSE THERE ARE FEW TOO MANY CLOUDS IN THE SKY...NEVER SEEN RAIN (didn't see that one coming...)...BLAH BLAH BLAH...

ME: (thinking to myself...geez you would think he owned a ZR1...)

HIM: blah blah blah...ONLY ONE OUT OF EVERY FIVE GET THE Z51 PACKAGE...LOOK AT MY BUILD SHEET...SAYS IT RIGHT HERE....GOT THE PADDLE SHIFTERS TOO...

ME: COOL SIR...well i just wanted to say NICE VETTE...gotta run...take care...have a good one...(pretty much running away)

In a case like that you have to out Bs the BS'er.
After the first or second blah, blah, blah you should have interrupted and said oh that ZR1 is my daily driver, you should see my Subaru Outback in my garage. Lime Green with Michelin snow tires in case it ever snows here in FLA, blah blah, blah continuing to pile up the BS until he gets bored.

Yeah, you meet all kinds at those shows! The best one I heard last year at one of the local cruise in's was, how I "downgraded" by coming from a 2011 SS Camaro and going to a '12 GS Convertible.

Actually I have found ZR1 owners to be the opposite way. I have a friend with a gorgeous ZR1 and the day I pulled up in my 2lt base car he was all over it, underneath it, inside it, telling me how nice it was and making me feel like I really had a special car.

to be clear...i'm saying that had it been a ZR1 i wouldn't mind the owner going on about the car because i would've been all ears...not that ZR1 owners are conceited or anything...

that thought did cross my mind...

yeah...don't get me started on the Mustang owners that were saying i only switched to a C6 to TRY and keep up with them...really? lose some weight...preferably off your HEAD and then we can talk...5.0s are nice but Corvettes still own the road

Wow, someone needs to explain to him he doesn't have anything that rare or special. I love my vette and most vette's but honestly vette's are a dime a dozen. Not exactly rare cars. Same goes for the Z51 option. Not something to brag about.

Sorry, you are completely wrong about that. It just isn't a REAL Corvette unless it has the Z51 option!!!!!!

Actually I would have preferred the magnetic ride shocks, but the car was just too sweet and I had to buy it...

Man, I'm glad you posted that. I never knew how "RARE" my Z51 option was.
I think my resale value just jumped a notch or two.
