We're all entitled an opinion! Like I said, my feeling is if you can't figure out where to store/conceal a weapon in your own car maybe you shouldn't own said weapon, or car for that matter!! LOL And this thread took a different direction a long time ago, seems like a testosterone match to me! And frankly I wouldn't want to expose publicly I carry, like I said a stupid thread IMO!!
But arent like 90% of the threads on this forum a testerone match?

I agree that having access to your firearm from within the corvette is at best problematic. I have mine in the center console and for a quick presentation it is less than ideal. Does anyone have an option for a cross draw from the driver door or driver side seat that has worked for them???

that and I would say 99% are stupid threads that have already been beaten to death anyway. This one too has been posted multiple times but we post in it anyway to update the info and for people too lazy to use the search engine

Agreed........but as history has shown us old ideas that are revisited (even if there is a current process or product that works) sometimes give us new ideas, products or methods of doing things that were not there before and thus advancements are seen.

I have a 7" Ka Bar in the center console and I either carry with my pocket holster or dash holster. I'm not sure how comfortable you would be with the vert and a dash holster but with my coupe it works just fine.
Ignore the 1911 in the images I don't have it anymore I carry a 9mm Taurus Slim.
Also make sure a setup like this is legal in your area. The holster setup is normally supposed to be under the steering wheel but the lip on the Vette is too big so it went on the glove box instead. Since it's in a snapped holster it's legal here in Florida.

Hrm.....not sure I would want a rifle in the Vette. Depends if I can get a flip forward windshield and fixed tripod to mount the gun so I can shoot while driving. I only have a few semi auto rifles. A 7.62 and a 30-06. 30-06 is a baby gun though.

Since this topic comes up 3-4 times every year, I didn't read the previous posts.
But after 30 years as a cop and firearms instructor for my department, I learned there is only one place to carry a gun: attached to you body. When I was making the rules as Chief, I prohibited any kind of off-body carry (car, purse, briefcase, etc) unless the Officer got special permission from me for a specific situation.
We did practice drawing and shooting while seated in the car, but it was a last ditch emergency maneuver. 99% of the time, you use the gas pedal instead of the gun.
If you keep the gun in the car; sooner or later you'll leave it behind when you need it, or shoot yourself in the @ss while holstering, or get phoned in as a person about to rob the store, or have it stolen.
Everyone who carries needs to find a gun/holster/clothing combination that will let them be comfortable and concealed for all normal activities, including driving the car. We've driven over 150k miles in C5/C6 Corvettes, and most of those miles were with a Brng HP or Glock 19comfortably on my person.
I do have a stainless mesh bag (Pacsafe) for storing the gun in the car if I legally need to leave the gun behind and actually choose to do so.

For protection you are better off throwing a Kimber at someone rather than trying to shoot them. No way would I trust my life to one.
Sold them for years, as a percentage sent more of them back for issues than all other 1911's by any manufacturer combined. They also are not real "custom shop" pistols that they try to sell. Ever since they went to Yonkers QC has dropped through the floor. They keep the price high and people assiciate them with being good. Dan Wesson/CZ is far superior and most often cheaper with much higher quality internals and their custom shop is as close to custom shop as you get without actually having one custom made to your specs.
Some work great but many are problematic. All guns manufacturers have issues (Taurus is another with the revolvers) but as far as 1911s go Kimber is below Rock Island in terms of reliability as percentage sold.

Good man. All guns have issues (even some Glocks).
The one pistol I have NEVER jammed and I have thrown every piece of crap ammo through it is a Ruger P90 Duotone SE. I would not even clean it properly TRYING to get it to gum up. No such luck.......
In one weekend I shot it a few boxes of Blazer, CCI, Remington, Federal.....etc Couldnt get it to. Then shot an entire box of personal defense and then critical defense. Both grouped rather well and no jams. All in all over 1000 rounds through it in a day and it worked flawlessly. Ended up giving it to my dad because its the one I would trust my life with the most. She has a few marks from being carried but trust with me is something not easily gotten.
Yes, I did clean it completely before I gave it to him. Gave him 40 rounds of critical defense ammo and over 250 rounds of plinker with the case, holster, speed loader and 4 mags (came with 2). I love my dad.
