Targa Top and Cargo Shade
Hey Folks, quick question. Do you leave your cargo shade in place when you store your targa top in the hatch? Just curious. It seems the shade is soft enough not to scratch the paint.

Yeah - no issues at all with either the painted or clear top. Preferrably don't store your top when it's too dirty. The material of the cargo shade won't scratch the top, but grit and debris in between the two might.

I have always removed my shade when I insert the top in the back. My concern is that there is dust / dirt on the top which will rub against the shade and scratch it. And the fact is .... I love the way the top looks in the back. My car came with stripes and the stripes all line up. Looks amazing. It is only a 1 minute exercise to remove/re-install.

We store our top in the back with the cargo shade in place, and sometimes the top is pretty dirty. The shade flaps like crazy in the wind, too.
To my amazement, I can't find any scratching that could be caused by the shade.

Thanks folks. I wonder if an embroidered shade would be more likely to scratch the top. It seems that it would. Mine is not embroidered, but I have been thinking of getting one. Of course, as ocd pointed out, it only take a minute to remove, so no big deal.
Thanks again.
