[QUOTE=mfj427;1582257471]That's it for me.... 1039 miles on a new 2013, unfortunately will go into hibernation tonight for 6 to 7 months!!!!!!!

How many members from Florida on this site... I love FL!!! What am I doing in PA?

Beautiful 427 Vert! Yeah, you're probably looking at a good 6 months of storage. I remember those days well, living in Rochester NY. Can't say I miss those days!

High of 40 today in Rochester NY but low 60's on Sunday and Monday with sunshine. (I am sure that will change by then) I guess I will be taking the vett out of slumber for a couple days and driving around with the top down. In NY I have to take advantage of 'top down weather' as much as I can so if it's above 58 and the sun out, the top is down. Of course if my wife is riding with me she is bundled up likes its 30 degrees outside but I don't mind.

6-7 months? 4, 5 at the most.

There is salt on 76 between Donegal and Somerset, they got some decent snow.

It sucks. Mine is in the garage right now but I plan to drive it a few more times.

I would move to Florida in a heart beat.

Yes its hot & humid here in the summer but thats nowhere near as bad as dealing with snow, Ice, slush, cold nasty weather.
Not to mention out of control taxes and horrible horrible roads.

No thanks I'll stay down here in paradise.
There are no twisty roads down there, thats how.

The only states with year round warm weather and twisty roads are Arizona and California.

paradise....LOL, get twenty miles from either shoreline and Fla is one flat, boring state ! to each his own , other than spring training you're welcome to it !

now as for winter....it's easy...get out and enjoy it !!

They think that liquid stuff really prevents icy roads, HA!!!. A few rain drops and it is history. What a joke and waste of money. All it accomplishes is a false sense of security. Someone sold Pendot on purchasing these liquid spreaders and WE the motoring public are stuck with this waste.

I run my car all year in NY State. They do far worse with the roads than PA does by putting down a mixture of salt and sand. The sand sandblasts the paint off metal cars and lets the salt work on the bare metal. The sand also gathers in recesses in the underside of the body and frame and stays wet for weeks on end which causes more rust. However, there is no issue driving the car on nice days when the roads are dry. Sure there is white salt dust on the roads but it doesn't do anything to a Corvette and washes off quite easily. Been doing this for years. My first two Corvettes (a 69 and a 71 were daily drivers) and the salt/sand tore up the frames since the C2/C3 frame had pockets that would fill up with the mixture and it would stay wet for months. My 86, 97, 03 and now 08 had no issues due to being driven on dry roads with salt on them.

Funny thing about this. A Corvette is probably a better car to use as a daily driver in the winter than almost any other car. As they say "When it is quiet out a night you can hear metal cars rusting."

We moved down here exactly a year ago and I can honestly say, I don't miss the brine, the slush, the cold rain, the snow, the ice or even the blowing leaves. Went to a car show this past Sunday, in shorts, flipflops and my roof off. The winter here is cloudless skies, low humidity, and highs between 70-80. The summer, even though warm and more humidity wasn't as hot as up north. Why we didn't move here years ago, I don't know? Plus, being from eastern PA, the roads here are fantastic. That sweet white vert of yours would fit in nice here. Corvettes are like popcorn down here.

THINK ABOUT IT!!!

I've been trying to move down for a while, but there are no good jobs for me so far.

We had 2" of partly cloudy here in central FL. When I lived in south east Michigan I drove my 'Vette and Trans Ams every day of the year irregardless the weather. I keep a very clean car but storing in the winter months, no way.

To be perfectly honest with you I have less than 0% interest in twisty roads since I only drive my Z to show's only.

Lets see, live in a state that has just horrible nasty weather several months out of the year, oh wait I forgot you have twisty roads too.
Or live where you can drive your vette or whatever else you may have 12 months a year. Oh did I mention you can go to the beach on X-mas & new years or whenever you want..... I'll let you do the math.

They have the salt trucks on standby here in SoCal. It was 80 degrees here today, but it's supposed to get down to 53 degrees tonight.

I feel for you...can't imaging putting my Vette in hibernation for 6-7 months.

Just need a fun winter vechicle to get through the cold months. Just put away the Z06 and waxed the FX35.
