Do you guys think that the 60th ann. C6 is more less or just as important as the 50th ann.C5 in celebrating a corvettes birthday and what model do you think will be more desirable in the future a 50th ann.C5 or a 60th ann. C6 and I am talking ann. not just the car .I remeber when I had a 50th vert it represented half a century of corvettes and it was supposed to be a big deal but is it?Thanks Dave

IMO these are special interest Vettes and pristine low mileage cars will bring a little more money in the short run. But right now they are not true collectables and won't be in my lifetime. Look at mid years. They really didn't draw big bucks until about 25 yrs after they were produced. I do think that the C6 might have more
potential interest and collectability because its the last model year, can be had with the 427, and a 4LT.

Not sure it will ever be a real big deal. After all they were not done to a specific number of anniversary cars produced. Even though the the '03 was the 50th anniversary, the 60th was available with the 427 505 hp engine in a convertible. That makes it a little more special. However I think that if GM wanted it to be considered a collectible down the road they would have offered it in one specific trim and I am not referring the paint and also set a limited number.

I suspect that the real answer has a lot to do with desires. back in the day, teenagers wanted say a split window coupe, or 67 vert with 427, but just couldnt swing it. they were bad *** cars that the then current generation wanted. as they aged, finances enabled them to relive their youth by purchasing one of their fantasies foor the last thirty years. now, on to the modern versions. Do teens and twentysomethings want a vette but just cant swing it? or has interest gone away? the answer to that, I suspect will drive valuations twenty years from now.

Yeah I'm not a fan of them, but 50 and 60 years in production is impressive for any car.
If I had to choose it would be the 60th. I'm not a fan of the color on the 50th Anniv.

people thought the 25th anniversary was supposed to be a valuable collector car, hasn't happened
the 60th will be more desirable simply because it is a better car, but there are so many variants, I doubt it will ever be except the 427 vert, only because it is a one year deal, but even then, there will be lots of them
I think it is a very nice looking car, very tastefully done, but IMO not worth the extra money, but if you have the extra cash

As anniversaries go 50th is a big deal, and the 50th AEs were very nice cars. I for one really like the Anniv. Red paint and we had a his and her pair of a coupe and a convertible. However, I think the 60th Anniv. Package with the stripes is a very eye catching car and the nicest special edition package that has been on the vette in a long, long time. Add to that the 427 Convertible which is a uniquely equipped and powered vehicle in its own right and I think it tops the desirability of the even the 50th AE cars. If I could have both I'd love to.

I bought the 427 vert because it was a great car. 60 years has no relevance to me... It's cool and all but...
I bought the car to drive, and drive it daily I do. The reality is, it's just a car... a real fun car!

Neither one is significant and neither one will be worth much in your lifetime.

In my mind, there should have been only 2 Anniversary Corvettes. The milestone years of 25 and 50. The 35th, 40th and 60th anniversary pkgs. were/are, marketing gimmicks. BTW...They got the 25th right in Silver, but they missed the boat on the 50th...should have been Gold!

Important because it was my first NEW Corvette (R8C);
Special because it was my reward to myself for beating cancer, of which I was only given a 30% chance ofsurvival;
I would not have given a new car's purchase a 2nd thought, but for the 427 vert combo. My car is not a 60th Anniversary Edition vehicle. I liked and purchased a NRBM w/cashmere interior;
I had absolutely no problems with the 50th AE, mechanical or otherwise. I did a dealer trade and feel I pretty much got "market value" for the trade. Nothing additional because it was a 50th AE. I am not a wrench, a collector, nor was the car a garage queen. I'm just a guy that's been blessed to have followed his childhood dream to own a corvette. I've owned 4;
All-in-all, I personally don't see the appreciation of the 50th AE. The vehicle is not a "limited edition" car as almost 1/3 (~11,000) of the 2003's were specifically the 50th AE combo. I can't address the 60th AE value as again, my car is not an anniversary edition, just a 427 vert.

The 50th was special enough to attract 33% of the 03 total Vette production at 5K a clip. Great marketing by GM. If U like 50th AE, buy to drive & enjoy, not to put away in garage waiting for value to skyrocket.
Same should apply to 60th.

The terms Important/Special are very subjective. To me:
Important because it was my first NEW Corvette (R8C);
Special because it was my reward to myself for beating cancer, of which I was only given a 30% chance ofsurvival;
