Default Do you drive your Corvette in the rain??

When I was shopping for a Corvette (for sale by private owners), I was impressed how some of the sellers boasted that their Corvette had "never been driven in the rain". I ended up buying a 2007/C6 Corvette from an individual in May that had owned it for a year and I got the impression that he didn't think twice about driving it in the rain. Now that I'm facing the first rain season with the Corvette I bought in May, I have mixed feelings about whether I should drive it in the rain, or keep it in my garage when it's wet out side. I've already got caught in the rain twice and both times, I dried it off when I got home. So I'm just curious to get a sense of how many of you drive your C6 (or other Corvette models) either (A) in the rain without thinking twice about it, or (B) make it a point to never drive it in the rain or (C) drive it in the rain, but dry it off when you get home. I'm very curious and will be appreciative of any responses that I receive. Thanks!

Okay, thank you for all of the responses so far. But with the responses, I'm finding that I'm curious about another relevant piece of information.....if you reply, can you please include what year your Corvette is? Thanks again!

Okay, my primary concern about driving it in the rain is this: My last car was black. That may make a difference, since my Corvette is silver, but my last car would get wet from the sprinklers. A few months later when I noticed that the sprinkers were hitting it, it already had water spots on it that wouldn't come off (maybe because the water was hard, I don't know). So I was wondering if driving it in the rain, getting it wet and having the water dry on it could create the same water spots that I experienced with my last car and make it so the paint/exterior of my Corvette looks flawed....

If I get caught in the rain I dont worry about it. I dont drive it in the rain on purpose due to the cleaning.

I wont take mine out if it's raining before I leave (because I don't want to detail it again if its clean) but if I get caught in the rain, no big deal. I don't fear the rain, I fear the hail that can come along with it.

Yes, it has been driven in the rain.
No, I do not drive it in the rain purposely, but this is not because I fear rain, it because I keep my car extremely clean and the process is easier w/o exposure to dirty roads.

Since my Corvette is my only car, I have to drive it in the rain. It does get dirty.

Be careful about about hitting the gas peddle too hard when it's raining. It is easy to lose control on slick pavement.

Thanks for the response/feedback. Do you mind if I ask what year your Corvette is?

in b4 the "I drive mine in the rain and you should too" crowd.
and the stupidest chit some always say "I drive mine in rain all the time and ya know what...it didnt/doesnt melt-hahaha"

I dont and wont take it out even if I suspect its going to rain. I see it as a task and it isnt enjoyable in the least...

I say you use your car in the manner which makes you the happiest...

When I used my C5Z as a daily driver, I drove it in the rain but wiped it down when I got home. Now that my C6Z isn't my daily driver I don't drive it in the rain.

I don't drive t if its raining or forecast to. Unless I'm on a road trip. Because cleaning the car afterwards is big job that takes most of the day.

We take a few long road trips every year, so when were on the road for 2 or 3 weeks at a time, it's pretty tough to avoid the rain. I have great rain tires, so i don't worry about it, and wash the car as often as I can when I'm on the road.

Having someone say it's never been driven in the rain doesn't make the car anymore valuable as far as I'm concerned.

no problem here, just don't enjoy the clean up. was in colorado last July going from
Durango to Montose up 550. No guard rails, well at about 10,000 feet had a down pour.
My only worry was loosing traction with 3 to 4000 ft drop offs. really was careful. all was well.
