What about Wixom??
With the new LT1 being built in Tonawanda NY and the pending doom of the LS3 dry sump, LS7 and LS9, what are the guys in Wixom going to build? I would think these engines will be around for a little while as crate engines and replacement engines but what then. Without production engines being built, I would think things are going to get slow there. Has anybody heard what's going to be built there?

We asked the guys what they are going to build next when we were down at the open house. It seems WIXOM is taking back the Caddy high performance engines from Mexico, they will build the Camaro ZL1 engine and hand building the COPO Camaro. They as you know did the work on the first one. They did not say anything or would even crack a facial change when we talked about the C7 Engines. I would expect that any new engines such as a Z06 or ZR1 type would be built in WIXOM. WIXOM is a small place and seeing they were only building about 24 motors per day they are only set up for low production high quality work.

I would never have expected Wixom to be building the LT1 since that is the C7 base engine. The production numbers would be above Wixom's capacity. I am surprised that the LT1 is not back in the St Catherines plant as that is where all the LS series since the LS1 has been built excepting the hi po engines at Wixom. I think Wixom will be fine as I expect there will be a hi po version of the LT1 for the future Z cars that surely will be built at Wixom. JMHO.
