About three years ago I got a small generator, with the primary purpose to run our sump pumps. Since I have only used it once before, I figured I'd better try to get it started this weekend. Well of course no luck, fortunately early this morning I found a small motor repair shop that was open; he said he had one generator in front of me to get done, and I told him I'd be right there. He said he was closing as soon as he got ours done, and he was good to his word. It's limited in what it will power, but if it keeps the water out of my basement that is my main concern.

Hey California......this storm is no joke.............800 miles across, with the lowest pressure of any storm ever measured....EVER. NYC transit is essentially shut down. The stock market is closed for two days.....This will be really really bad tonight. A full moon tide on top of the rest of this crap leads to BILLIONS in devastation on the east coast.

Good luck to you guys up there...I am a Katrina survivor so I know a little about what you are getting ready to go through...I lived in Baton Rouge and know full well the power and surge and also the aftermath...

I had to make a difficult choice today... I live on the Husdon River, so my choice was to keep the vette parked in the garage level out of the rain but at risk of getting flooded with seawater overnight, or parking it on the top level and exposing it to rain and flying debris... I picked the top
Tried to park it close to buildings so it gets some cover from the wind.
Cross my fingers nothing too hard hits it. Luckily there is not supposed to be any hail in this storm.

Just watched the 6pm news and Atlantic City looks like a war zone. Seven blocks of the boardwalk is gone. The waves are 40' high crashing into and over the sea wall. The back streets have six feet of water.

That picture is stupid, still have power winds are unbelievable here. Hoping against hope that we don't have to go through what we did last year.
