FedEx Came Yesterday (Merged)
What a surprise -- a FedEx box at our front door. I hadn't ordered anything nor had my wife. She opened it, and it was from GM.
A black box 8X11 and 2 inches think. Inside is a much smaller black cover with the Corvette Driver Handbook inside. It has the 60th crossed flags on the cover. Got a card with my name, Vin #, and dealer name on it inside the front cover.
It has 90 pages and 9 chapters. To those of us who have had a corvette before there is not really anything in the book that I had not heard before. It is a nice PR thing for GM to do when one buys a $50K+ car.
Chapters are: Spotter Guide, Driving Schools, Scenic/Driving Roads, Destinations, Major Corvette Events, Corvette Racing, National CLubs Organizations, Accessories/Apparel, Owners Essentials.
The letter with it says thanks for purchasing a New Chevrolet Corvette. "We also are pleased to offer you a complimentary one-year membership to the National Corvette Museum." Not sure how that works since I have been a member for many years.

I also got one from FedEx a couple of days ago for my purchase of a new 2012 coupe.

do you have to buy a gs or better to get the membership? i got the book the letter and everything else for my '12 2LT coupe and my letter never said i have a one year membership to NCM.

I think it comes with all new Corvettes. When I bought my 2011, a membership came with it. If I remember correctly the application for the year free membership was in the owners manual folder.

I got the book two years ago when I bought my 2011 GS. Just got a new 2013 GS a month ago - don't know if I'll get another updated book or not, but I did get a tin of chocolate-chip cookies courtesy of CF dealer Fichtner Chevy!

I received one on my '11 GS Coupe that I purchased last year, but never got one on my '12 GS convertible. I just took delivery of a '12 Coupe last Friday so I guess I'll wait and see.

Question for either Jim. When did you guys take delivery of your cars? It seems like these go out in batches. My delivery date was 7/9, and I have not gotten mine yet, but I am still hopeful.

Got one yesterday as well. Not quite sure of the point of it is, but I guess if you're spending $90,000. they must feel they should send you SOMETHING!

There's supposed to be a postcard or some kind of card telling you how to get your free magazine subscription to American Sports Car, and a free one year membership to the NCM.
I didn't get that card 6 months ago, so my dealer is still trying to get that arranged.

FedEx dropped mine off yesterday as well. I just bought a 2013 427 (NCM delivery 21 Sep). I haven't had a chance to read through the whole book yet.
