What do you mean they will not reset? What kind of messages are you seeing on the DIC?

Not a good idea to do away with them.
Traction Control
There are 4 separate modes:
1. Traction Control - On .... Active Handling - On (Engages when the car is started)
This is the default mode.
This is recommended for normal driving.
2. Traction Control - Off .... Active Handling - On (Engage with 1 push of the button)
Turning off TCS allows the rear wheels to spin, but allows the Active Handling to fully assist in skid control.
This is recommended for drag racing.
3. Traction Control - Off .... Active Handling - Reduced (Engage with 2 pushes of the button)
This is the Competitive Driving Mode which allows the rear wheels to spin, while reducing some of the input that Active Handling has to assist in skid control.
This is recommended for road racing.
4. Traction Control - Off .... Active Handling - Off (Engage by holding button for at least 5 sec.)
This may be used when the driver does not want any on-board sensor input that may effect power reduction or brake application.
No rear wheel spin or vehicle skid corrections are automatically applied.
Note: The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) is always on and is unaffected by the various Traction Control or Active Handling selections that may be made above.

Display reads SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING....SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL...SERVICE ABS. Will not reset and will not change mode with holding button 5 secs. Everytime you apply brakes the anti lock brakes activate.

Those warnings aren't random and they aren't meant to be ignored. If it is displaying continuously, you have a real problem with a sensor or system on the car.

I got those codes three weeks ago on my 2009. The consensus was that the car was trying to tell me it had a bad battery, going out. Test confirmed it was right. Battery fixed it right up. Your results may vary but I'm betting that's the issue.

Also since it's an 05, a battery going bad and causing DIC messages can also engage the column lock if left to continue, if it's a 6 spd. Just fyi if it's a bad battery.

I am having this same issue. Had it a couple months ago and my front right wheel sensor was loose. Popped up again a couple weeks ago. While doing the brakes a week ago I checked the connector and it's really loose compared to the front left. Do you have to splice a new connector in or can it easily be replaced ?

I've been dealing with this for years...it's back again, like me...
I have a new battery, not the problem.
Had brakes and rotors checked this weekend at Firestone, not the problem.
This is more than annoying.....

Pull the DTC's with a standard scanner, and if there is none, then use a Tech II to pull all the body codes that may not elevated to a basic scanner type code next.

Problem is, the basic cheap scanners can not pull the BCM body and EBCM brake codes, since it requires the scanner to use the GM security key to get this deep in to the sub systems.
So if your taking this,
https://www.harborfreight.com/automo...der-64981.html
Its a basic candi scanner and will not read the body/EBCM codes instead.
About the cheapest way that your going to find a Tech II clone, is the VX GM Nano.
Its a MDI clone with step back hardware, so it comes with Tech2win to work as a GM/Bosch Tech II to pull all the current and history codes on the C6.
