Window Tint Ticket
Does anyone know or have heard of anyone getting a ticket for window tint being to dark. Alabama law states that 32% is as dark as I can go but it got me wondering if anyone knows someone who has actually gotten a ticket for it.

Maryland will issue a repair order ticket, which means you have to take it to a inspection station and have it removed, in my case I had it removed, went to my eye dr got a Tint Waiver because of my eye sensativity to light and now I am legal with windows tinted darker then Maryland law allows when I got my repair order, so now I thank the leo who stopped me.

Yep I got a ticket in Georgia while driving my 79 Trans Am, but when I faxed the court a doctors excuse for it because I had skin cancer they dropped it. Guy was a real dick. 5 foot nothing and smart mouthed. Braselton Georgia cop just outside Atlanta coming up I-85.

As Firebug10 said, here in Texas, they will ticket you. I have even heard of them makeing you take the tint off. Texas requires annual inspection sticker and most places will not inspect if tint is too dark.

Which is why they don't stop and ticket for it regularly!!!! If they did very few cars would have dark tint and they would have to have come up with a valid reason to stop someone.
But by ignoring the tint, a lot of cars here have tint darker than legal, and ignoring a bunch of other little things that are against the law, they have a reason to stop almost anyone at any time.
They can also stop you for that frame around the license plate that almost every dealer puts on every car.

Two of my buddies showed up at the station with their tint pulled off. The tropper would not let them leave before they removed it. I'm sure removing it on the side of the road was a lot of fun. He got his point across.

Actually been thinking about this as well, had very light tint on my Porsche and did get pulled over a few times but luckily they just gave me a warning. Just got my Callaway and it also has tints, been debating on whether to take it off or not as I am getting older and don't want to deal with the hassle of getting pulled over or being always worried that I have to roll my windows down.
Long story short I will be removing them this weekend
Btw do the back windows come tinted from the factory, mine are very dark so I am assuming prior owner added another layer of tint

That's because law enforcement vehicles are exempt from the tint laws. That is written into most, if not all of the state laws on tint I have personally reviewed. I don't see how going that dark could be considered safe in the least but though.

All this really is,is a reason to make the city, county or state more revenue. As Ron Paul has said,"our liberty is an illusion". Everything we do seems to be controlled,as our gov't seems to know what is best for us and "provides" laws for us,the lawbreakers. It is sad and will only get worse.
