GS Convertable Noise
Just sold my 2011 GS Coupe. I'm planning on ordering a GS Convertable. Can anyone tell me noise levels in a roadster? Thanks, jeff

my 11 GS is great. Top down is a bit noisy but what do you expect. Top up, good, go for it, nothing better than a convertible vette.

Top up noise is minimal. If you have the NPP exhaust, do yourself a favor and get the Mild2Wild switch. Gives you the option to open or close the exhaust. You can get the nice rumble of the exhaust when you want it, but the drone with the top up can get a little old especially at consistent highway speeds - so I usually turn exhaust off when top is up. Wind noise is minimal. It's a pretty tight car.

With the top up, the Vert is quieter than the coupe because of the lack of noise from the rear tires and exhaust. The Vert separates the trunk from the cabin. With the top down, there's wind noise like any convertible. That said, I haven't driven with the top up since May.

I just a bought a 2LT vert, I have had the power top before, more trunk space and the power motor I think is slow, I just want hassle free but thats me, bottomline the vert rocks in looks with the top down, I love the roadster look and the fresh air! Get It!!!

Thank you all. As far as the exhaust drone goes I won't have to worry. I have had Callaway exhaust in the past and will install it on this vert.

Good for you c6, the exhaust is not at all loud! Frankly I wish it was louder, and in my opinion the drone is non existent on the highway! Callaway system I'm sure sounds great!!

I've had 2 C6 coupes and now have a 2012 Grand Sport convertible. It is definately noisier than a coupe, in fact my C6 convert is much noisier than my wifes Mustang convertible. Last weekend I was driving into a 25MPH wind at 70 and you could hardly hear the radio. On a calm day at 60mph it is quiet but still not as quiet as a coupe.

My '11 GS convertible has terrible road noise, something I don't remember from my '07 convertible. I am hoping this noise will be gone when I get rid of the Goodyear tires.

2010 GS Vert - Very quiet with top up. Used to be quiet with top down - has gotten noisier as the tires age. Suspect it is the GY RF's that are at the end of their life.

I have a 2006 convertible with headers and Borlas. It's still reasonably quiet with the top up. The 2013 427 has NPP and is deathly quiet with the top up. That will change when Borla builds an exhaust for the 427.

I agree, below 70mph, by 80mph the wind starts doing some noisy stuff at the back window. Tolerable for sure, not real bad, but rolling on the highway over 75mph with the top up I noticed it.
Top down, 60mph and below is just fine w/o a wind screen. I personally can't stand driving more than 15 minutes on the highway with the top down though. Granted I have not tried a vette-net or wind screen.
