Default Hello! New c-6 owner

Hiya gang!

I'm not new to the forums but new to the c-6 forums.. I recently sold my 88 c4 and purchased an '06 Z51 coupe with 154 miles on it!!!

So far I'm loving it, what a switch from c4's .. Quite exhilarating

I look forward to getting to know you all and the great advise these forums are known for

Welcome to C6! Hopefully you don't neglect the car like the other owner did! Go drive! Enjoy.

O heck no! See this is the weird part... I'm technically the first owner... Kinda sorta.

The car was owned by a casino here in Las Vegas and was spinning around and around next to a slot machine. They traded it in for two camaro's, my sales guy at Chevy calls me and boom! All mine. I raced other people in to get it. Car had never , not once been registered. Therefore when I do, I'll be the first . Kinda cool in a not so common way

Not many can say that just bought a brand new 2006 Corvette. I am a little confused however. You said you just sold your 88 04 and that the C6 is completely different then to 04. So did you sell 2 cars an '88 and an '04 or just an '04?
As already stated, great find enjoy and welcome to the C6 section, but check all the rubber components.

Made the jump from a C3 to my first C6. That was like a horse drawn wagon to the Spaceshuttle for me. Being in a climate controled environment will probubly keep the issuses with long term storage away, so drive and enjoy.

I don't mind really... I ran the Kbb on it with these miles and it came back 37k , I offered 34k and asked to have an extended warranty. They took my offer

The biggest concerns were the fluids and tires. The asked the casino to pull the battery out and to NOT attempt to start it. When it was delivered on the flat bed , they immediately drained every fluid you can think of. Replaced all filters and put fresh gas in. Dropped a new battery in, some how lubricated the cylinder walls (pull spark plugs?) and she fired right up.

The reason the top is not on the car in the picture is that in 06 there was a recall on the tops. They ordered me a new top, I took delivery any way as I could not wait!!! (Yes she's sleeping covered in the garage )

Took it out on the freeway for a nice cruise last night to start those "break in" miles ... Any suggestions for that?

All in all its been a fun week with a great ending!

Bob
