Kerblam! Your engine just blew up!
You're driving down the road, minding your own business and KERBLAM! 7 pistons are scattered for hundreds of feet behind you (can't find the 8th piston, I think it vaporized), The block is in 3 pieces. Not much left to salvage, maybe 2 spark plugs made it through the destruction...
Ok, now what? NO Warranty left for you to use.
What engine option do you want put back in your car? Same as what you had? LS2? LS3? LS7? LS9? Supercharge or Turbo the new engine? Install Forged everything? Drop the CR? RWHP target?
Build a daily driver? Daily driver with FI? ***** to the wall race car?
Here's your chance.
Ok, we need to limit the cost to something reasonable. All of us are not independently wealthy (me for sure ) so...
Less than $15K for everything. Engine, R(the hunks left)&R.
What is your engine order going to be to the repair shop?

15 k budget
Put it back to close to stock. $15,000 will not support a monster engine build, and let's not even talk about the future problems that all modded engines face after a few miles.
If you want to race, go buy a SCCA spec Miata and really race on real race tracks.
Or build that monster engine and join the people pissing match on how much horsepower they think they have.
There, I said it and now I feel better.

Sorry about the engine...that sucks. You mention no warranty left to use so I assume it was a stock engine and not modified in any way? I'd avoid forced induction on a stock, cast-piston engine but that's just me. You mentioned "forged everything." I agree your best bet would be a fully-built, naturally aspirated motor from Lingenfelter, Katech or Callaway. I know Lingenfelter (and likely the other two) provide a great warranty with their applications but I think a fully-built motor will cost way more than you want to spend.
If you ever want to modify an engine this would be the time but I understand the money thing. At this point, with the budget you're working with I'd be inclined to put an LS3 crate motor in the car. Mods can come in the future if you're so inclined.
Again, sorry about the engine and good luck with whatever you decide on.

Summet 427 LS engine. They are 10k and have close to 600 hp with a 2 year warranty AND comes with the tuning for it.
That would be my route. I would use the rest of the money (probably 3k if you have to pay someone to put it in for you) to upgrade the clutch and what have you.

I'd probably put a low mile LS3 in there w/heads, cam & do converter while it was apart as well. If I had enough left, maybe a used blower kit.
EDIT: The Summit 427 sounds good too, though.

speaking from experience minus the Kerblam! The first thing I did was say **** **** **** **** ****!!!!!
Then I grabbed my phone and called my buddy Joe and told him the car was on the way.

I would go get a 5.3 from a junk yard, tear it down and inspect everything to make sure it was in good condition. I would sell the 799 heads (same as 243 heads just made in a different plant) and buy a head/cam package (maybe Trick Flow or for cheap go with PATRIOT) and throw a FAST intake/tb, exhaust and a tune and make 500 hp at the crank.
