Default Will the engine shut off?

I'm just wondering, if you start your car (C6) and get out with the key fob in your pocket, will the engine die?
Or what crazy thing will happen. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow.

The car will continue to run, but, it will follow you around like a little puppy.

Stop and think about your question a minute.

Suppose you were on the interstate driving about 70 MPH. Would you want the engine to stop running suddenly because the battery in your fob died?

Give GM a little more credit than that.

It has happened many times were an owner leaves the fob home and drives somewhere and shut it down. When it's time to start it he's in trouble. He needs the fob.

Never take anything for granted - it is a fair question. How about the 05 coupe that would drain the battery if it was not set in reverse when you shut it down? That never made sense to me, but, GM was the one that came-up with the design. What about the C6 NAV system that has no way to use it if the car is moving? Doesn't it make sense to have an over-ride if you have a passenger to work the NAV? Hum, who came-up with that design? Could it have been GM?

New car, but I wasn't going to post a new thread about it. However, while conversing in johnodrake's thread, a good-looking woman asked me to post a pic of me and the car. I hate it when that happens.

I just bought an 04 Prius DD instead of my Yukon, mine came with a fob/smart key. I had the Prius running went inside the house and left the fob on the counter. When I got in my Prius a key indicator light was flashing to let me know no fob/smart key detected.

If you leave the FOB somehow but have the car running.
You will not be in trouble if you stop and shut off the engine.
Just - DO NOT -answer the question - Run or Stop - by choosing Stop.
Stop is chosen by hitting the off button again. Run is chosen by hitting Start.
In other word don't press the Stop button twice and you can Restart.
