Default How many of your cars..........

have pretty noticeable stone chips in the front and on the mirrors? Since I took my 05 to Michigan a few weeks ago, it got several pin ***** type marks and chips in the front. When I bought it, it had two very small marks on the hood. Now it has 15-20 across the front and on the sides. They aren't that noticeable to someone else, but I know they are there. Do you have them on your car? Do you just plan on having them touched up one day or do you just figure it's part of having a car?

Same here on all three cars. ClearBra is a no-brainer.

I have touch up paint but I have not tried to use it yet. I am a little afraid of it. One day I'll address the issue

If you drive it you're going to get them and you'll always notice them more than others because it's your car.

Same here. I bought it to be my DD, and DDs get chips and dings....clear bra looks worse than chips when you get close up to the car...IMO. Mostly have to look in exactly the right spot to see chips....I thought about buying the clear bra, but then saw it in person on a couple of cars. I decided I would rather have to ignore the almost invisible chip than have to ignore the whole front of the car because it is covered in tape. I suppose I will change my opinion when the car is covered in chips....nah, excuse to buy another one.

Huh I didn't think about it as a reason to buy another car down the road
I wonder if I will be able to get that by my husband?

It doesn't have to be what happens.

All cars suffer wear and tear from use. If the stone chips seem excessive and they bother you I suggest you have them professionally repaired and then have a clear bra applied. Personally, for a street-driven car I never felt the need for a clear bra but if you really want to protect your paint the "Saran Wrap' is the way to go. I don't obsess over the little dings too much.

If you can keep to the ole 2 second rule behind the car in front of you as much as possible you'll minimize the rock chips.

07 with 85,500 miles of smiles. No chips on nose, 1 small one on hood and quite a few on the mirrors. Touched them up with free paint pen from forum vendor. If you look close you can see them but not from 4 feet.

Chips are part of driving your car. Must say the Vette has held up VERY well. My wifes old 07 Mazda did not. Looked like it was shot with a 12ga repeatedly. Now my youngest son drives it when he needs a 4 door.

I don't have any on the front to speak of, but back around the rear brake duct - it is getting eat up! Gonna have to get that painted.
