Trunk space is way underestimated by people.

Here's a pic of my cargo area when I arrived home (CA) from my museum delivery. Duffle bag, 2 carry-on suitcases, 4 or 5 smaller bags, dirty laundry, souvenirs, my Tombstone, AZ hat, and more. When loaded, I flip my rear-end protector over everything, which protects it from direct sunlight. One secret is you can pile things higher in the middle where the window curves up.

I remember when I could fit all of my worldly possessions in a car. The good ol days - indeed. Today, i would need several full sized moving vans. Moving, for me, would be a total hassle.

The trunk in my 08 is HUGE, but then again......I learned and lived with the storage area of a 96 Coupe for 12 years, so anything would seem big.

I take both of my dogs (50 & 80 pounds) to the park all the time to let them run off a leash. People question me all the time about how I manage to get both dogs in the back of the car. They love it back there, especially if the top is off.

Ive fit two large suitcases, two sets of golf clubs, a ice chest, five pairs of shoes and a two bags of food items on my last vacation. Proper stowage was a key, but it all fit (barely)

When I was looking to replace my Porsche 944T, the Vette came out on top for this very reason. I was considering Nissan 370Z and Porsche Cayman.
I go fishing a lot in Santa Cruz. I required that I could get all my gear and more into whatever I bought. Didn't want to have to take the Jeep over the nice twisty mountain road. I don't usually need to bring it, but I had my 100 qt cooler (just fits) back there along with other gear the other day.

That sounds fun . . . but I think it might get a little hot back there for my dog. That, and no window to hang her head out of.

Safety Car
Haven't taken a road trip in mine yet, but I did fill the back with tons of groceries today because I was too lazy to take my other car and stop at the gas station first. People gave me some strange looks, then realized I probably had more room to spare than they did in their Civics and Focuses.
