Default Window Tint

I am planning to have my windows tinted. What should I be looking for as far as percentage of tint. I want to make sure the percentage is legal so that I don't get pulled over. I live in Florida. Is there anything esle I need to make sure it is done right. I also want to have a visor tint on the front windshielf. Any advise will be most appreciated

I live in New Mexico, another hot climate. My tint source gave me the tint limits for our law; I surmise your installer should do that for you too.

I picked the tint with the greatest heat blocking rating - 58% heat reduction. 3M's Black Chrome" works. It is also legal here with a fairly moderate tint color.

Good luck

I live in Florida too.

Any reputable shop will give you a certificate showing the legality of your tint. Carry it in the glove box, in case police question it.

You should also get a lifetime warranty. Standard with any good tint.

You should also get a non-metallic tint if you plan to use a radar detector. I went with ceramic tint.

See my profile garage, and you will see what the max tint in Florida looks like in my pics.

I too am in Florida and my installer put a clear film on the interior of my windshield that blocks out 99% of the UV rays. This way my interior doesn't fade & helps me keep my skin.
