I have always used Intercity Lines which is based in MA but serves the whole country. Their trailers are all enclosed with rear elevators for level loading and level transport. Check out the pictures in my profile. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/album.php?albumid=15278
I have used them for my classic XKE, a 240Z, a Ferrari F430 and they have transported a 1988 Porsche 959S twice. They recently shipped the 959S to a race track in NY to be displayed at a charity event and then shipped it back to my house. I've never had a problem and narry a scratch. They double cover the cars.
Call them for a quote. They are well worth it.

oh cmon gary, you've been on here long enuff (gentle chiding). here, and ask for the CF discount: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/vendor_directory.php
if they don't work out for you, one of the other oldest carriers is horseless carriage. we're not talking cheap or inexpensive in either case, but good.

I called Intercity around ten years ago about transporting a Corvette from Orlando, FL to Springfield, MO. They said no as they didn't run that route.
That I don't understand. Orlando is on I-4, with easy access to either I-75 or I-95, and Springfield in on I-44. Neither city is localed at the end of a long dusty backroad, far from the Interstates. I went with a local company that used two car enclosed fifth wheel trailers pulled by 1 ton dually's and saved a bunch of money(I'm guessing, as Intercity wouldn't give me a quote, but I did get quotes from their competitors).

American Auto Move is pretty legit in my opinion. I used them a few years back to ship my 'vette. Very good stuff.
