W/o a tune, you'll be looking at the CEL in the dash 24/7

Dont worry. I ran my car for a while without a tune. I installed headers and a cai. It was about three months after i installed them when i got a tune. I also ran without the rear o2s. You will have a cel but no need to worry.

PA doesn't have visual inspections ? If it does, you're toast. Of course, on your '12 GS, doing a tune will kill the power train warranty.

I see on the Corvette Forum here that everyone says the Corvettes will blow up due to running lean (which makes sense). However, I know plenty of LS1 Corvette, F-body and GTO owners that run full exhausts and no tune and dont blow up. Actually, never heard of a single one blowing up. Even LS2 GTO's....never heard of them blowing up either with full exhaust and a tune.
Why is that?

A mail order tune is only $99-150
Guess the question is why wouldn't you when you are spending $1500
on a set do headers to go on your 7k motor?
Peace

I completely agree. I just have never witnessed it and most guys with F-bodies (more so than GTOs which are more so than Vette owners) RUN THE **** out of their cars on a regular basis.

Why run headers w/o a tune ? Might just as well re use the oil and air filter.

Because its better than a mail order tune.
I have had mail order tunes and they are good, pretty spot on but still not AS good because you dont make any fine tune adjustments.
So people dont get mad when I say this I mean I sent out my car, mods, where I live, how I wanted the automatic tranny to shift....etc and a new "tuned" pcm was sent to me. Friends of mine sent their pcm's out and had them tuned and returned.
Dude.....just spit coffee on my keypad.

You can do a search, there are several cf vendors that offer email tune. I have used ECS in the past. They really know LS engined vehicles, especially vettes. Some of the very fastest vettes in the country are ECS customer's or employee cars.
